Madam woo is great for some people who miss asian food while in New Zealand. The indoor quite great, food itself is decent for me.I ordered Nasi Lemak (8/10) : The rice was great, however there's no chicken for this menuKwetiau 7/10 : for me it quite tastelesspork belly (8/10): this is so tasty and the texture was greatSpicy fried chicken (7.6/10) : Great texture but no spicy at all for me

Dined at Madam Woo in January 2023. Reservation was easy through the website. Standout features of this restaurant are it's location, layout, service and food. It has atmosphere - that continuous buzz of chatter and laughter that gives you the privacy for your own conversations - but it is never too loud that you need to raise your voice. The food is excellent with some very interesting options. If anything - portions are a little large but one can always exercise self control. The service is brilliant - a standout - they anticipate your needs - never did we need to attempt the catch the server's eye. They are happy staff and properly trained. Food comes quickly so make sure your hungry!

Dinner with family in June 2023.Woo Fried RiceFried Rice without wok-hei do not fit to be called fried rice. It’s neither fluffy nor tasty.Char Kway TeowAgain, where is the wok-hei?Bland in taste too.Wok Fried Asian GreensFeels like greens from frozen pack. Acceptable in taste.Ginger Chicken Noodles SoupAcceptable.Restaurant is quite dim. Cannot really see what we are eating. It seems like a mid to high class restaurant but the food speaks otherwise.Service is prompt but not warm.Overall, food wise, it’s a disgrace to Malaysia’s cuisine. Will not return nor recommend anyone.

I paid close to $30 for a laksa which was sufficient and tasted good. Decent, well maintained and cozy restaurant offering good service.

Initially excited for Malaysian Chinese but this was a very western take. Ordered a fried chicken appetizer which was basically tenders with spices, a braised tofu and vegetables (veggies were charred but almost raw, and oily; tofu was simply tofu with heaps of sauce dumped on it), and a laksa noodle which was disappointing for its lackluster flavor and noodles.

Great restaurant in Queenstown! A must-try spot for dinner in my opinion. Highly recommend.I recommend getting the beef rendang (if you eat beef). I'm no expert on beef rendang, but it was seriously delicious. The Laksa was also excellent, so flavorful and spiced. The Wok Fried Asian Greens was a great side dish. Service was good and the atmosphere was nice. It's a popular place so get a reservation if going for dinner.

We stopped for an early dinner and sat on the patio - service was quick! We were served a bottle of sparkling water and tried a ginger mocktail which was refreshing and light. The duck hoisin appetizer was really delicious - perfect size to split. The roti was crispy and melt in your mouth. I ordered the Malaysian salad with roast duck - it was good but I wish there was more meat and a little less salad. My husband tried the chicken curry with coconut rice which he loved. Would recommend - the inside of the restaurant is also very cute and art geco.

We dropped in for a late dinner and a couple of drinks. They have great food - South Asian street food inspired menu. The food was all excellent. The tofu and greens was super. The five spices chicken as a starter is excellent. Service was good, and the venue is a fun spot

Delicious food at Madam Woo and even though we were seated outside, service was still great and we were not forgotten. This review is a little overdue from Dec 2022 but thought I'd provide some nice feedback on the experience on the last evening/night in Queenstown. We had the Malaysian curry chicken, pork belly and some duck pancakes (similar to a Peking duck take) with steamed rice. Washed down with a local brew and tap water this was a delightful place to eat and share the highlights of a great NZ trip in the early days of summer. A must try place in Queenstown!

We walked in and dined in. Amazing atmosphere and asian-style deco with bamboo wall. The highlight was the hawker rolls which made to perfection and it is definitely worth a try. We ordered the rolls with roast duck. However other dishes, beef randang, wok fired froed roce were average, nothing fancy. Unfortunately the worst dish was Laksa. We couldn't finish it and expect much more from the price we paid.
