Have been meaning to go here for a while, finally, we got the chance, and we were not disappointed. The food is fantastic. The standout dishes for us were the Stracciatella and the chopped raw beef. The taste and textures combined made these really stand out. That's not to say the other dishes weren't great; they were all excellent. We did spend a bit on the dinner, but it was worth every dollar.The staff were super friendly and welcoming, and their knowledge of the food and drinks put us at ease as a couple of the dishes we had never had. I love the cosy atmosphere, and it doesn't get too loud.If you get a chance to come to Margot's, then do it. This place is to be noticed.

I was excited to try Margot and it is a really fun new Newtown addition. The restaurant is very very small, and feels a bit claustrophobic. The staff are lovely and very friendly. The food flavor pairings were very different and definitely would challenge your preconceived notion of a common dish. Their flounder with tomato butter was amazing and I feel like I have been missing out on tomato butter my whole life.This restaurant is a fun one to try out and their small share plates makes it fun to try out multiple dishes.

We love Margot.It's our fav little spot in Newtown, a place we recommend to all our friends and family and when we go out for dinner this is our first pick.Both owners are so incredibly lovely and the staff are amazing, friendly and knowledgeable.All the food is divine and exciting to eat.The Paloma cocktail is our favourite and we always have to have incredible self-control to not order the whole cocktail list. The little space is cozy, intimate and warm. It's the perfect place to celebrate small or have a cute date night.We. LOVE. Margot.Ps. Don't skip on the bread and butter.

Honestly one of the best places to eat in Wellington. The place is small but warm, cozy and romantic. Staff are so lovely and you can see that they actually enjoy being there! Food is always amazing- an experience every time.

Gorgeous birthday dinner here last night. Lovely staff and cosy atmosphere. Excellent range of dishes for a vegetarian to choose from and all delicious. Sheep’s milk pannacotta with rhubarb and pistachio for dessert was a highlight! Also a good non-alcoholic drinks range.

The best meal I’ve had in Pōneke, maybe the best meal in Aotearoa. So homely, the service and the kai are both the warmest hug you’ve ever had dining out. Will be eating here for as long as Margot keeps her doors open. What an absolute gem Newtown has obtained. Your heart will be full after eating here.

One of the most amazing little restaurants in the city, the team here are so friendly and talented. The cocktails are out of this world good, still getting my head around the flavours and the combinations.A great food menu with a chef who knows what they are doing, great dishes featuring seasonal produce sand probably the best potato’s I have ever had.It’s busy so book ahead. This is what hospo is all about in NZ. Can’t wait to come back. Xxxx

Seriously delicious food, locally sourced. We shared seven plates between 3 of us and a bottle of Chardonnay- it was all wonderful! The staff are super-helpful, friendly and professional. I’d highly recommend.
