I was really pleased by the whole experience of dealing with The Sewing Depot. On the website, there was no option for shipping to Australia, so I sent a message and from there, the whole process was quick and painless. There was fast turnaround of email responses (as opposed to the black box so often experienced), options for shipping, and advice that the goods had been shipped. They arrived within the time advised and the whole cost was less than other online sellers.I would definitely shop with The Sewing Depot again and I recommend it to other potential customers.

Ordered online and had items within a day. Some out of stock items were upgraded for free with a note to explain. Great service.

I’m not one to write reviews but feel so disappointed with my experience at the Sewing Depot that I felt I needed to share. I wanted to buy an embroidery machine from them as they are close and local, I wanted a physical demonstration showing me how the machine interacts with software packages to design my own embroidery creations - not the pre- programmed ones. I was very specific in my request. I was advised to book an appointment to allow time for this demonstration to take place so we all have time - which makes sense.I booked an hour time slot - at this point there was no mention of charge. They were running late so was asked to come 15 mins later. I arrived and the assistant took me through the very basics of threading and showing me a preprogrammed embroiled letter - when I asked about the demo for computer package I was told they weren’t set up for this but she would send me a video of her doing it later that day. I was then charged $50 for just 30 minutes and was really just an opportunity for the assistant to pitch a sale - I learnt nothing . One video has arrived but not the other - not what was request and useless to me - I wanted a hands on demo which I would have been happy to pay for if I got it. I have tried to resolve this with the shop but they are not interested saying that they are supplying videos free so I should be happy !!!! (Even though I paid $50) Absolutely stunned …. Beware if buying a machine from here they will want to charge you $50 for the sales pitch and don’t seem to able to acknowledge customers needs.

Superb communication and hasty delivery. I ordered a few discontinued zips, some of which happened to be out of stock. They got in touch with me and made some pretty good alternative suggestions. I was pleasantly surprised, as the replaced colour happened to match my fabric a lot better than the colour I ordered originally! :) Goes to show that the pictures don't do justice to the real colour. I am very happy with the way this was handled and grateful the order could still go ahead :) Thank you very much, really made my day!

Has a nice range of sewing machines and accessories, and supplies for sewing, craft and embroidery. Their range of buttons is great and I really like that you can order by the number you need, although they also have some prepackaged ones also. Ordering is easy and postage is fast. The website is pretty easy to navigate also.

I attended a fantastic sewing class held by Maria French. The Sewing Depot is a well stocked store selling lots of sewing supplies (no fabric), machines, knitting, and other hobbies.

I enjoyed an overlooking tutorial with Maria and learnt so much in a short space of time. I'm looking forward to taking some more classes in pattern making in the New Year. Maria is a great teacher and explains things in easy terms. I would highly recommend The Sewing Depot and their classes. Keep up the great work.

I've been working with Ana from The Sewing Depot to build and develop my Swimwear line. I have used a number of machinists across NZ and noone could cater to my needs of Low Order Quantities but high quality reversible swimwear pieces. I met Ana and started with lessons where I learnt how to make each of the pieces myself. She has now trained me enough that I hire out the machinery on site with the expert advice on hand when needed. Couldn't recommend the customer experience enough - I feel so well educated and comfortable enough to reach out and ask for any suggestions when needed. My business wouldn't have been able to continue without Ana and The Sewing Depot.- Rebecca Marie - Sustainsy.
