540 on Great South Motel

The accomodation itself is okay, however many problems. I’ve suddenly started getting these weird markings on my body which I’m going to assume are from bed bugs. Also really surprising how sometimes cleaners would come in without knocking. However what tipped me off was I happened to forget my room keys inside my room and called the service desk. I apologised for calling at such a late time past their usual hours (it was 11 going to 12). However, they rudely said straight after “do you know what time it is” which I was completely aware of and apologetic for, but there was clearly a lack of understanding on their behalf. I’ve never been to a motel where they were upset with a customer forgetting their keys in their room as a one time thing.Overall, I kept saying sorry but as it was urgent, I had to call. They then threatened and said that they will charge us the next time this happens, really poor customer service, why work in one when you can’t be a decent person.

Unhelpful staff who were very rude. Rooms aren’t clean and aren’t cleaned (covers thrown on the bed) if you stay overnight. Not worth almost $300 a night. Avoid!

From the outset of my first conversion with the manager I knew this is where we were going to be staying. We wanted to book a family room to accommodate our small family of 6. For the price it was reasonable considering the convinience of all amenities within a close walking distance. Due to our budget we asked for a smaller room (1bedroom suite) as the only difference between that room and the family room was a single bed. The suite has a large double bed and a fold down couch so I rang back and I asked him if we could have that room instead. After explaining my kids were small enough to fit on the fold down couch and our 1 year old had her portable cot he gladly agreed to let us have the suite but went a little further and offered us the family room at the same rate as the suite.This is service at its finest. A stranger to this man I was and he showed a high level of professionalism, compassion and courtesy towards my family in the form of family focused policies that they have in place.On arrival we were greeted by a friendly smile and a very pleasant environment. If I needed anything all we had to do was ask.I highly recommend Motel 540, the people from manager to employees are friendly and courteous and makes staying here a pleasurable experience.This is our new motel when we're in Auckland we will go no where else!Thank you John and Sam we had a wonderful stay.

My room cost 299 for a double and a pull out sofa , pros comfortable bed and good size bathroomCons it was noisey icould her people that were in the next room I found a cockroche I paid 299 for a room that has a broken door handle the pull out sofa you could feel the springs , paying 299 for a room I would of loved something nice for that price

Multiple stays for business. Excellent staff - friendly and efficient and caring. Very clean tidy modern rooms. Quiet. Comfy beds. Good wifi.

Room wasn't as big as web site shows. Not great value for the amount paid.Laundry room is shut at a certain time.Daughter got bites on her arms.Wouldn't recommend for price.Rooms are hot. Has air con which is good..No windows that actually allow air in.Service was good.

Family runs business so no professional customer service. Refused to provide service, came to argue with customers with rude attitude. One of us quit at the first day even we pre-paid for the whole week. Room cleaning service was the only thing matching its price so it’s 2 starts rather than 1. The motel lost the chance to earn 20k/year since we were find long-term hotel to service company employees.
