Perfect freedom camping but you must arrive early if you want a spot ! Nice sea view and beautiful sunset ! You also got cold shower and clean amenities. I recommence on your trip on the west coast !

The council have done a terrific job providing this freedom camping area. The best we have seen. I really hope it’s looked after!Well marked spots, toilets and quiet.It was safe overnight, but it was midweek.Get in early, and avoid rolling up at night and waking others up

Amazing spot to spend the night. It is in front of the sea, with public toilets and a cold shower. Plenty of room for campervans. There is also a camping table and a big green space for picnic and so. Would definitely recommend!

Great spot for a wander and read about the different bird species that live here and the changes this area has undergone over the past few years. In addition to that check out toyota kiwi guardians for a medal earning oppourtunity and teach and educate our children about conservation. Great resources and joys to be had.

Plenty of parking for large motorhomes . Clean toilets , outside showers, rubbish bins right there . Reasonably good surfing waves .

We stayed here overnight. The wind was funneling down the river towards the sea. We enjoyed a few local walks in the vicinity.Point Elizabeth, Lion's Walk Lookout (10 minutes) which gave great views looking southward down the coast.
