I recommend this company to anyone with transmission issues. Hands down! My Lexus was having transmission issues and one day just wouldn’t drive. These guys towed my vehicle to their shop and sorted it within a couple days. I was expecting to pay for rebuilt trans or second hand replacement but nope these guys were honest and were able to solve it. My vehicle is mint now! These guys have Good communication, are friendly, have fair pricing, and they’re really knowledgeable in their industry. I will definitely use them again for any of my vehicles!Thank youJohn

Team helped me to diagnose an issue with my car and admitted they could not fix the issue I had and referred me to my local Mazda, they were nice enough not to charge me for my troubles and the distance I travelled (Albany-East Tamaki) but were able to provide me a list of fault codes for my vehicle which I could take to Mazda to get the issues sorted.

A repair shop as good as The Gearbox Factory is actually quite hard to fine. Paul and the team have a breadth & depth of technical knowledge which is reflected in both the accuracy of their pricing and the quality of workmanship. They kept me well informed throughout the repair (rear differential in my case) and the final price was less than the original quotation. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

Went to Mazda service centre back in April with engine light on and transmission issue, they told me something was broken inside and would need pulling apart (found that hard to believe as the car was running). Took my car to The Gearbox factory, they told me nothing was broken after full diagnostic. Found faulty drive shaft speed sensor - replaced/reset computer. car ran well for about a week then faults returned. Full recheck done - result found the TCM had failed, had this replaced and a full service done. car has been running perfectly even since.If you even have an issue with your car I recommend you go see Steve and the team (they will check and advise)Absolutely Amazing Team

Went in today at short notice with my Subaru not able to select reverse or park and fearing the worst. I spoke to Steve on the phone and, when I went in, Chris handled the diagnostics. Both were very professional, knowledgeable and good communicators. The problem was resolved with a quick fix within an hour and a reasonable charge. A positive experience with no BS - I’d go back.
