Karamea Domain Campground

Great spot not too far from everything you need in Karamea. There's everything you need on a camp site. Was perfect for our stopover on a rainy day. The facilities are a bit dated but they're clean and tidy and that's really all you need. Decent size lounge, kitchen and dining area indoors as well as plenty of space outdoors with picnic tables. The site is right near the river too so there's a nice short walk right there as well as easy access to fishing. There's a sports oval too and the tennis courts right there if you want to play some sport. Super friendly hosts too. Great value.

Great place here. A good price and you can use the kitchen free of charge when you camp! Has a great pool table as well!The owner is really friendly and it's really chilled out there, I'd recommend to all!

Good facilities, hot shower available without having using coins.Nice living room and dinner room. Kitchen with a lots of utensils.11$ for a tent sites or if you sleep in your car.Laundry machine 4$ and dryer 4$ that's a little bit expensive but the price per night is cheap.I really recommend it .

As other comments have already pointed out the facilities are very, very run down. The bathrooms are very old. The lounge and dining room feel damp and dusty even on a summer day. With very old, worn furniture. If you suffer from respiratory allergies avoid at all cost.The caretaker (female) was unpleasant and rude. There also is no shade so being in a tent during the day is impossible.The place seems more suited for campervans that don't need the facilities or shade.There is a nice pool table and a game of darts. And there is an oven which is great.Overall would not stay again and instead recommend the incredible campground at the beach 20 minutes north of this one.

It is okay place but not like what you would have with a Top 10 camp. It is close to the Last Resort Hotel has clean showers kitchen and toilets. It is also reasonable in price to stay. After all you are hear to see the site's and explore.

Most enjoyable two nights spent. Good generous facilities.Lovely congregation of friendly camper vanners who return again and again.Special was having access to an oven to bake up some muesli bars.Can recommend highly.Barbara and Gilbert Kiwi/Frog.

Cheap and tidy. Good facilities, nice pool table. Grand view of the sunset from the river bank. The caretakers, Leslie and Colin, lovely couple, prepared an awesome dinner and dessert for everyone at the campsite for christmas day, Leslie did an outstanding job. Thank you.

Leslie and Colin are friendly wonderful people.We were invited for Xmas dinner at NO cost couldn’t believe it! The camp ground is great, facilities are good even has a pool table, dart board . Everything you need is there. Not far from the 4 square and even closer to the Hotel and the locals who I may say were warm and welcoming. Thankyou Leslie and Colin for making our holiday awesome.
