High Country Horse Adventures - Lake Coleridge

My best friend and I LOVED this experience! We did a 6 hour trek and had a perfect day of weather. The horses were outstanding, Beer and Harley were ours for the day ans we couldn’t have been better looked after. Our guide, Shaun was AMAZING. He was so knowledgeable, kind and just an all round top guy!Lauren had only accidentally trotted previously and Shaun had her cantering through water by the end of the trek.Hands down one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. Thank you so much for the best day! Already planning a trip to see you at the end of the year.

I did a 6hrs horse trek,and OMG it was fantastic, i loved my horse,the scenery truly spectacular, mountains,the river trail my fav.part,bit bush and forest,fields,hills and we got choice of trotting and cantering,we stopped for short break,had lunch with a amazing view...i highly recommend this place,you wont be disappointed, and of cos our guide James, is great,,cruisy,patient and calm..a very enjoyable experience..♥️♥️♥️planning to go back to do a 3day trek,....xxx

James was awesome. He was really kind and thoughtful. The two horses assigned to us were Anita and Orange and they were super well-mannered. We thoroughly enjoyed the high country experience.

We had a super day out Horse Trekking, we did the 2 hour trek over to the Lake, the horses were well behaved, and the scenery was stunning!

Ahh first of all, James thank you so much for our nice ride together! And Sophie, you were an amazing horse! ❤️Really enjoyed our ride. The scenery was beautifull, definitely at the lake! We also rode an hour together around the braided rivers between the flowers and it was amazing. I'm really looking back to it with a big smile on my face. I would definitely come back here for a ride!I highly recommend this amazing experience.

We were travelling around the South Island heading towards Arthurs Pass and looked for things to do nearby, luckily we stumbled across this! Got in touch with James over email and he was straight back and we arranged a ride for the next morning.Greeted by James at their house we were quickly out on the horses and trekking through the woods surrounding the lake.Having lived in the area for a long time James has a lot of knowledge about the area but what we enjoyed was how easy he was to talk to and how knowledgeable he was in general. We saw lots of amazing things on the ride, and 2 hours flew by.After the ride James invited us back into his home for tea and to let us download the photos that he had taken of us which was very kind. We then sat for probably an hour just chatting about the area and what he recommended that we should go and see on the rest of our travels.Very good would definitely recommend and made more special by having such a friendly, inviting guide to lead you.6 stars if possible

Just back with my daughter in law, from two day high country trek with James. Fantastic experience for an older rider from long past days like me. Great scenery. River crossings, high hill track and very capable and tolerant horses. Thank you James (and Deb for the lunches, yum)

Had the most incredible experience here recently. A must do if visiting Queenstown. The staff are friendly and helpful, the views are insane and it's good value for money. Highly recommend!

I had a magical 5 days of riding around spectacular lake coleridge, surrounding farm stations and the rakaia river. James and his team (bre and dillon) really provided an amazing experience in all respects.
