A con alright. On top of the ridiculous fee to transfer the policy they also have a clause in their terms that can get them out of just about anything - the clause being 'reasonably discoverable'. In my case I had showers that were not built correctly. They are saying that I should have picked this up before buying the new home. To do this I would need to lift the tiles, membrane and scree during an open home!!! What an absolute joke. This is the worst clause I have ever come across in any companies terms.

Never ever trust RMB guarantee and their contract. Avoid RMB builders! This company is designed to fool people once you are in their trap. We are victims of their fraud guarantee and going to fight a legal battle.

When you send them an email, you now receive two automated responses that they are unable to read your email. One is about internal computer problems, the other because of high demand.The fee charged for transfers between owners is extortionate. $375 for a PDF file.Their T&C are written in their favour to deny almost every claim.It’s a case for the commerce commission and the NZ consumer protection organisation.
