Fantastic track. We did the 9km route and we went the full circle over the fence and all. What an adventure and such beautiful varied sight.. loved it.

On a good day the views are fabulous.. On a bad day its a good workout and test of your equipment. Carry pleant of water and if the weather looks to be changing make sure you have suitable clothes.

Good walk. Not well sign posted so a little bit tricky for first timers. I walked it clockwise which was an easy going incline, with a steep decline on the way back. Good amount of native bush with a touch of farmland.

Very well maintained and non technical track (small stones and not many pot holes). If you want to take the 4wd track down to Stratton Street you'll need to veer left at the trig and follow the track. Soon you will see a piece of wood with arrows, keep right. Next you see a massive map signpost and facing the sign you'd turn 180 and head downward to the left on the brown track. At the bottom you'll see a creek but there's a small bridge to the right of it. Hopefully that helps someone cause as a first timer it was hard to navigate and lucky there was a local I could ask at the trig.

If you're looking for a fun, sporty hike with some seriously epic views, Belmont Trig should be at the top of your list. The trail is well-maintained and easy to navigate, making it a great option for hikers of all levels. The views from the top are absolutely incredible - you'll have the Hutt Valley and Wellington laid out before you in all their glory. The hike itself is a bit of a challenge, but that just makes the views from the top all the sweeter. Overall, Belmont Trig is a must-do for any outdoor enthusiast looking for a fun and scenic hike.

Massive effort required to get all the way up, a reasonable level of fitness is definitely recommended. I took food and drink with me too to have as a reward when I got to the top. The tracks are very well maintained and the views both on the way and when you get to the top are well worth it. I great adventure, but make sure you allow plenty of time (took me 2 hours to get up from the Oakleigh St entrance). I definitely recommend doing this at least once in your lifetime.

Great climb. Well signposted. Takes a medium level of fitness. Beware it can be very windy and cold at the top, so take something warm to put on.

Very nice hike up the trig. Gorgeous views of the city, Petone, Johnsonville and Porirua areas. Bring plenty of water and good shoes ready to cross the Korokoro stream :)
