Oriental Bay Beach

Nice! Perhaps the nicest beach in Wellington City and can get quite busy over summer. I think the pink sand was brought here from somewhere else but definitely beautiful. Like them or not, but those little red-billed gulls complete the nice coastal vibe.

Beautiful. Oriental Bay Beach is a great venue to go for your walk. Then take a break in one of the cafés across the road. Sorry no photos. Will add a couple when we go there next

Always good. A little microclimate when the sun comes out even with a mild southerly, and entertaining even on bad weather days. Lots of cafes nearby. Love being a beach bum here.

The sun was shining. No wind. A calm peaceful sea sparkling with sea diamonds. Loads of people out enjoying Oriental Bay. It was a near perfect day.

The area was originally called Duppa because of its sole resident, but Mr Duppa renamed it Oriental Bay after the ship The Oriental that he arrived in Wellington on.
