This is the worst business in the Wairarapa second only to Wairarapa Environmental. Unprofessional, poor quality and way overpriced products. You will honestly wonder what you have struck the moment you visit this place. This place is a joke and the staff are completely incompetent and it amuses me that they have anything more than one star reviews here. Speak to locals first, this place is a joke and these people should not be in business. Nobody will touch them, especially tradespeople. Rummages should not have all of their friends placing favourable reviews here. Nobody has a good word to say about them. Their positive review status here is completely inaccurate. For your own sake and sanity - Stay away!

Salvage building materials. A large collection of reusable material but not catalogued. If you know exactly what you want go with time to spare and tape measure. Check the price that you are prepared to pay before visiting. Many singled glazed windows. Bathroom fittings and fixtures. Wooden doors and panels. Plus much more. Very interesting.

Visited today looking for windows and the owner could not have been more helpful. Came away thinking 'What a really nice helpful guy'.

Ordered over 2weeks ago & they gave me a tracking number which had no details, when I inquired they send me a message saying NZ post is responsible for the delay & that they have already dispatched the parcel to Nz post, waited a few more days & checked today, a lady named Wendy send me a tracking update which shows that the parcel is coming from China..the website shows the products are available in Nz, hence ordered..I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone, totally misleading.

Don’t get rummaged by rummages!Bought a brass entrance knob with key (as per the photos on their website).Item arrived more than a week later with NO KEY.Rang them, they said a locksmith could do it, and the one in the photo I’d seen had already sold!Said they wouldn’t refund. Said they had phoned me, they hadn’t. Overall felt disingenuous behavior from them.

Great place for nick nacks have lots of different stuff

Wendy went out of her way to help me order something that was not in stock, she ordered it for me from China and was posted direct to me and received within 2 weeks just before xmas, excellent service a+.

Ordered an expensive handle online - change of heart less than 24h later (my bad, but does happen!) and ask for a refund. I was refunded MINUS 25% cancellation fee.Yes indeed this is their actual policy and I should have read carefully… however, considering:> ask for cancellation within 24h> handle had not been dispatch yet!I would have expected some flexibility and kindness.But I Literally got charged $50 for nothing.Found the experience VERY unpleasant and left a terrible taste in my mouth. Would not recommend this business.

Sold me a wooden door that had cracks in the veneer, refused to provide any sort of compensation. See photo for an example of the shoddy merchandise provided by this store. Attempted to prove" the doors were fine when they left with nine year old photos!"
