Buckleton Beach
A beautiful beach with lovely scenery, but not a place to spend a “beach day”, as there is very little sand and a lot of trees.There is a small parking area and boat ramp, as well as a small grassy area to relax along the beach. No picnic tables or other facilities were available.There is no public restroom, either.It seems popular with boaters because of the boat ramp.It might be an OK beach for swimming, but not surfing.

Definitely worth a visit. Better half tide upwards. Protected by Kauwau Island so good for family with young children.

We accidentally stumbled on the beach whilst exploring the region in and around Matakan. The beach is picture perfect and ideal for a nice day out. You are also able to launch your boat from the beach which is a big plus for the boating enthusiast.
