Patea Beach Motor Camp

Very friendly hosts and a laugh. A laugh minute with Rodney. Facilities are good and the proximity to river and beach is fantastic. Children's playground just down the road and not too far to the local shops in Patea but far enough away to be nice and quiet

Lovely place to stay as couple, family or group. It has all you need and more: showers, kitchen with oven, microwave and fridge, community area, a great playground (e.g. with trampoline and water slide), huge fire places and even a volleyball field. Placed at the river. Additionally, it's only a few minutes by foot to the sea. We enjoyed staying a lot. Was very worth it. Everyone was super friendly and easy going. Highly recommended

It is camping kiwiana style. Lawns and gardens immaculate, facilities are old and need updating, touch more cleaning would good. Hennie was fantastic to deal with.

One of the best campgrounds of NZ! Amazing owner, space and location. Quality/price much better than anyone else! Highly recomended!

Attended a live band afternoon with self cook bbq available. Great community time.

Very friendly staff. I feel the whole campground is overdue for a spruce up. One shower is not enough, and the plastic shower curtain is past its use by date. It was a peaceful place to stay and pretty close to the shoreline, which was extremely powerful to watch in the stormy weather.

Nice campsite on Patea domain. Good shade from some lovely Pohutukawa's.

Packed when we went. Camp manager was nice enough let us (2 groups) move to a spot that had just vacated.Some interesting sorts. Our neighbours were blatantly peeing in the bushes behind us, even though toilets were 30 seconds away. Camp manager said he'd sort them, and they stopped (at least we didn't see them do it anymore).Water/mud slide was fun for the kids. An ice cream truck visited too.Lots of utensils and cooking ware in the kitchen to use.There's a dump station on site on side of toilet block, but an awkward location with the washing up hose making puddles across the path to the busy toilets.Several cars entering after the gates were supposed to be locked.Sites seemed to be well looked after, though facilities a bit tired. Friendly helpful hosts.
