True Kit Inflatable Boats

I'm getting lots of comments on our True Kit Navigator from other boat owners at our marina. And we love the buoyancy, it's super easy to board, and the fact I can get it onto the roof of the car by myself if I need to is a big plus.

We’ve had the best father and son fishing missions on our new Tactician. Paired with a 6hp Yamaha 4stroke it’s been a great tool to teach my Son (5) basic boat handling skills, and safety on open water. We are very impressed with the craftsmanship and build quality of our Tactician. The boat is quick to set up, and after a couple of uses very easy to pack up. After watching True Kit’s instructional video we successfully installed four extra Railblaza ribports to accommodate our fishing rods and other gear. After we raised the transom the boat really came to life and now it’s way faster and even more fun on the water. Thank you Team True Kit for the great product, service, and after sales support.

Given it's winter in NZ our Discovery 3.3 hasn't yet had a tonne of use but the handful of times we've been out so far we've had a blast. Right from the start Rod and the team were super helpful and the after sales service has been outstanding with all sorts of helpful recommendations based on their experience. Couldn't recommend their customer approach more highly. Roll on summer!

I have been using a Truekit Discovery (3.3m) as a combination dive tender and yacht tender, with the odd near-shore dive operation for two years. It's the most versatile vessel of its size that I've found.For an offshore yacht tender you ideally want something you can roll up and store below decks for bluewater passages, but then have the carrying capacity and performance of a RIB when you get where you're going. I don't mind suggesting that the Discovery is the only solution for this, because you can't roll up a RIB, the inflatable keel designs are almost as heavy as a RIB, and no other large inflatable will perform like a Truekit.I've also discovered that a Tohatsu or Mercury 9.8hp are just 26kg and power the lightweight Truekit Discovery on to the plane easy with a good load which gives you a very easy to handle option. I note that you'll need to have a cupped prop to ensure it doesn't cavitate—the regular prop cavitates like crazy on the Discovery for some reason, but Rod Dawson can assist and supply an alternative.It's a capable dive tender, though you need more horsepower to get it to plane with three divers and all their kit. We have used the Discovery on an offshore expedition to the Kermadecs and at White Island/Bay of Plenty, up and down the NZ coast and even operating out the back of a Hilux for a shoot on the Waikato River. In all cases it has proved safe and light and reliable and could do things that a RIB could never do—like being packed into the back of a car or quarter berth, or being lifted by one bloke on to a foredeck with one hand, or being a big landing platform for a giant VR-camera-carrying drone.Note that it won't perform like a RIB in a big seaway where the deep-vee and weight of the rigid hull are an advantage. Also it's better to have the load further aft sometimes, as the volume forward in the bow is low (which makes it easier to get in and out of) also means it can surprise passengers by shipping a bit over the bow when a fully loaded Discovery drops off the plane too fast. Likewise, this is a light-weight high-volume boat that you can put a fair bit of horsepower on to, so watch your throttle when you're going into the wind flat-out with one person aboard... it generates a fair bit of lift :)Overall the Discovery is a super flexible and capable tender that is easier to handle and packs away smaller that anything else in the same category. It's not the same as a RIB, but shares some of the performance values without the weight and volume. We'll be using ours for years to come, in NZ and into the Pacific, for expedition work and for pleasure—it's just too versatile to look past.

Awesome tender. Went from needing to use our crane with our old rigid hull tender to offloading and loading (without outboard) manually. So easy to pull up the beach etc even with a 9.8 outboard. Best we have had across five tenders.

It's super fun. Portability is great. Runs on a 15hp Suzuki DT 15 2 stroke. Planes well with 4 adults. I mostly use it for nearby island hopping. But looking forward to farther destinations.

Our Truekit has been absolutely excellent in her first season. She's lightweight and easy to handle when bringing aboard, and made with incredible craftsmanship. She's been particularly helpful when transporting older passengers as she's very stable when stepping in. I recommend to anyone who asks. Hoping for many more years of enjoyment!

Love my little Stowaway! I am 68 and can easily lift it out onto my boat roof. Very balanced for rowing with 2 adults..

I never leave reviews but I am leaving one here to spread the word to anyone who is interested in True Kit- This boat is incredible and the team behind it is just as solid. I’m so glad I made the purchase. The boat I got is built extremely well and easy to set up and stow away. I take it all over the coast with my friends going to surf spots or just ripping it in big swell. I wanted a boat that was easy to transport, light, fast, good for spearfishing, and able to fit friends and a cooler. It takes about 30 minutes to set up and 20 minutes to stow away. I accidentally made a small puncture with my knife while spearfishing but the included fabric made it easy to patch. I paired my boat with a 20hp four stroke Suzuki but I want to get a more powerful engine since I think the boat can handle it. The True Kit team was easy to communicate with and helpful. They hooked me up with some extra features like speargun attachments. I’m located in California and they made it easy to get the boat shipped from New Zealand. Overall I highly highly recommend. Would 100% buy again. It’s so sick and everyone has an absolute blast on it.

A seriously good purchase. After researching options and almost settling on a tinny to go on the roof of my ute (as I also have a caravan in tow) I came across True Kit.I purchased the Navigator 300 when I was sitting on the side of a lake watching other boaties catching fish!It arrived last week and we spent the weekend at Lake Lyndon giving it a good blat using a 6hp outboard.Couldn't be happier! It is easy to set up (and fast!), stable on the water and easy to pack down into the envelope styled bag.Great service and help, excellent quality material, Easy to set up and pack down. Look forward to many more trips with this beauty.Highly recommend.
