We had an awesome time doing the Ride the Waves tour. The walk along the coastline was really pretty and taking the horses into the water was a really cool experience. Lizzy and Amy were also very friendly and were great guides.

I received the 'Ride the Waves' experience for my 21st birthday present and it was absolutely amazing! The horses are well cared for, the views were gorgeous, the owner and guide were lovely and swimming with the horses is something my mum and I will remember for a lifetime. If you're ever in the Bay of Islands I highly recommend doing this with Horse Trek'n, it was one of the coolest experiences! Thank you so much :)

Lizzy took us on our 1 hour trip! She was super nice and kind, giving us each appropriate horses. She explained the instructions very well, and it was good to see that the horses seemed well looked after, she knew each individual horse by name and personality as well. Good for beginners!

I can only fully agree with the old review by Woki! Emma was a great guide, and my horse Ace was great too! All horses were well mannered and well taken care of. We did the ride and swim" which was beyond amazing. Compared to another horse trek I did here in NZ

One of the best experiences I've made in NZ! Emma is the best and also the other staff (Alex & Lizzy) are sooo friendly and obliging! I highly recommend the swimming with the horses, a unique ride which I've never done or seen before! Also they treat the horses with respect and don't force them to do something, they don't want - and they enjoy the swimming really much too! 3 of 2 thumbs up!! Cheers, also to my pal Oscar, one of the most honest and nicest horses I've ever been ridden in my life!!

Enjoyed the ride today! All 3 ladies are amazing and very helpful. They will sit you on a horse suitable to your weight and experience. We were in a group of 5 and did the scenic track. Recommended.

I come up to Paihia for the long weekend. I have been here a few times so wanted to try a different activity i have not done before and glad I chose to do this.We decided on the forest and hillside trek and the horse i rode was Andy. Our guide was called Lizzie who was very knowledgeable and made us feel very welcome. We were taken to an area of Waitangi that i have not been to before to see Paihia with a new set of eyes.We had a brilliant time and I would highly recommend trying this out if your in the area.

We were booked on the Ride the Waves experience, (my Xmas present from my hubby). Unfortunately the weather meant we couldn’t do the sea and we agreed to transfer across to the Forest Ride. We selected this company as it advertised they permitted a canter or gallop for experienced riders. However our briefing said we would ride at the pace of the least experienced rider which meant we ‘walked’ - slowly. While I did ask if it would be possible for a canter - I was only offered a very short stretch of uphill dirt track (I had to hold my horse back from the group), but as soon as I allowed the horse ‘to go’, my stirrup broke. The guide said she’d stop and fix my saddle which was now on a bad lean to one side (I was not permitted to get off and fix it myself) but this didn’t happen either so the remainder of the ride was uncomfortable. We were both disappointed to be honest!
