Really wonderful grill restaurant, fantastic atmosphere the smoking rosemary as the steaks come out add a bit of theatre, Steaks were cooked fantasticly. Desserts great. Overall fantastic

Service was excellentTomahawk steak was soooooo good (have to preorder $80 / 800 grams)All steaks comes with bone marrow - fatty goodness.The salmon entree was pretty good too. Unique taste to it.Honestly winter is pretty sad here so this really made me happy!

What an amazing restaurant neatly tucked away! The food was amazing paired with such beautiful service. I would definitely would dine there again. I had the short rib with duck fat potatoes. So delicious and thanks for having us! It was so easy to give the restaurant 5 stars ⭐️

Great options and everything was really yummy!Many good reasons why this place is considered the best steakhouse in Christchurch.The service was nothing but kind, courteous and homely.Congrats to the team!I look forward to my next visit.

Nice wee spot in town. The service was good, and the staff were knowledgeable about the whiskeys and the meat, thanks!The food was absolutely gorgeous. The steak was cooked to perfection, had a dollop of marrow fat and served with parsnip chips which perfectly complimented the rich steak. We also got the Affogato for dessert, which was alright. Definitely worth the money!

WOW. These boys have skills.Certainly one of the nicest meals we've had in a very long time.T-bone was on point and the 6hour cooked rib was melting deliciousness.Desert was outstanding also.Thank you for fitting us in so close to closing time too. You boys nailed it.

Amazing casual steakhouse. Price was amazing, food was amazing, hospitality was amazing. And don't skip the chocolate brownie dessert.We were greeted by the lovely manager, Monica, where she threw some banter with us and made us feel comfortable dining there. There was a waiter in a sling wandering around, helping served and cracked some jokes with us. We found out later that the waiter was the owner, Jay Balasundara. He showed us the charcoal oven used to cook the steaks.The menu was simple, and in our opinion, very well priced. The excitement didn't start until our medium rare ribeye on the bone and Sirloin actually came out Medium Rare! It is rare you that you get the cook you asked for.My wife had the Wakanui 21 day aged Sirloin and I had the Prime Steer Ribeye on the bone. When I thought my ribeye was amazing, my head was knocked back when I tried my wife's Wakanui Sirloin. Delicious pieces of steak and such wonderful flavors from both the cooking technique and the beef themselves.Our dining experience didn't end as we ordered the panacotta with starenese qoulis and chocolate brownies on a hot plate and they were amazing!Truly recommend and we will definitely come back again whenever we visit Christchurch.

Kia ora. Nice funky place. Easy as to book online and alter if needed to. Nice and friendly, we found the flow of customer service could improve and be bit quicker. Not a major to do. But the food came out reasonably quick.I had the steak which was cooked to perfection for me. My friends enjoyed their food too. Nga mihi Jaba.

One of the most memorable steaks we’ve tried. We ordered a few dishes to share - the Tomahawk, bone marrow and venison carpaccio, and a cheesecake for dessert.It was my first time trying bone marrow and I’m glad I did. It went very nice with the bread provided. The venison carpaccio was good as well, so was the dessert.What stood out for me was the Tomahawk. The steak was cooked medium rare. It had a nicely charred flavour on the outside, and tender on the inside. Would return if I’m ever in the area again.Chatted with the lady at the cashier and discovered that she’s visiting my home country in 2 weeks time. If she reads this - “I hope you enjoy your holiday as much as I enjoyed my visit to the restaurant.” :)

Jaba Grill and Bar lived up to its 4.5-star rating.. The deep-fried squid with sriracha mayo was delicious, and the portion size was generous. My Marble Masters Grain Fed Angus Ribeye was cooked to perfection, and the parsnip puree and crisps were a tasty accompaniment. Wonderful quick and attentive services! I have no hesitation in recommending Jaba Grill and Bar.
