Had the best time doing my Open Water with Dive HQ. Kalani and Ollie were out instructors, Tailo was our dive master - and they were awesome. Made the experience a lot of fun while at the same time being very professional. Highly recommend going to these fine people if you want to learn to dive!

Had a really great time on this dive course. Would recommend. It's a great way to potentially make new friends and learn a new skill. Was able to score a spot during a (mid winter) school holiday slot which meant we were able to knock out our PADI certification in four consecutive full on days. 2 at the pool and 2 up in Mathesons Bay. No issues about the cold really.Make sure you ask if Kalani is running the course. He's a patient and good teacher and gives clear and calm instructions (especially when its all underwater) - would definitely recommend learning with him.I know of other places that offer training where all of the gear and equipment is provided for you during the course. Unfortunately you'll have to bring or purchase your own dive fins, mask, snorkel and boots (gloves optional) for this one, so is important to consider any potential extra costs involved when booking in advance.

I have just finished my Divemaster course with Chris. Chris is the epitome of professionalism, he knows how to push you to get the very best out of you, and also keep everything super fun at the same time. Chris is a brilliant example of what a mentor - protégé relationship should look like. I have had a better time than I could have ever imagined. If you are looking to continue your education in diving, Dive HQ is the place to do it. Thanks Mike, Michelle, Chris and the whole team at Dive HQ. Can’t wait to continue on to Instructor.

Dive HQ is a great place to get PADI certified. They have a lot of experience and everyone working there is an avid diver. There was a lot of material in the course but they manage to keep it fun and engaging. Mike who runs the shop was extremely understanding of my circumstances as a traveler and got me into a course last minute. With a little luck, a spot opened up for the open water dive and I was able to get certified. Without his help, I don't know when I would have gotten introduced to this amazing sport. Can't wait to continue my journey into this whole new world!

Just completed my PADI open water dive course the instructors Kalani and Hannah were amazing, very patient put us at ease, excellent communication, very clear simple easy to follow instruction. Highly recommend these guys they are fun, friendly and safe and I feel confident to embark on my next dive adventure.

Kalani is a super good diving instructor. I didn't learn well at the beginning, but he taught me patiently and finally I got the certificate successfully. I am looking forward to the next stage of study. If you want to take the PADI, don't miss it here!!!!

Great team, very easy to deal with and most of all, got everyone in our open water group confident in all necessary skills. MJ, legend! Breezed through it but took time for questions or if anyone required extra, just the right mix of fun and education. Highly recommended! Anyone thinking about learning to dive, do it, and do it with Dive HQ!Great range of products too, kitted me out with what i need at great pricing.

Had a great 4 day course with Kalani as my instructor. The lockdown made the arrangement very messy but they were good to sort things out! The course was well ran and I enjoyed it! Happy diving

Would recommend for their Open Water dive course. The shop also sells/rents underwater gear. Massive props to Kalani and James for teaching us, and making everyone feel safe and confident with our diving skills! Big up yourselves!The course only had 6 students with 2 instructors (one in training), which makes you feel well looked after underwater.Wish the shop would organise local dive trips. :)
