Yes, it is indeed a lovely NZ beach. A nice outing if you're in the area. Crashing surf, white sand, miles of uncrowded beach with plenty of shade.

A beautiful walk! The tide was high when we were here and we had to cross over a stream to access this area it was about knee deep and couldn’t find a streamThe trail was also incredibly muddy while we were there on the way up to the look outThe rocks are fun to walk across but you do need to be mindful so you don’t get hurt!A lot of fossils, and a lot of rocks that look like they’re from Mars! Many small shells to look at

Nice quiet beach, bit rough for swimming but picturesque. Highly recommend the 25 walk to see.

The most beautiful remote and pristine beach with only a handful of people there. Definitely worth the visit.

Not a 30 mins hike if it rains. Expect a very slippery and muddy trail in rainy weather. We did 80% hike on the boulders and rest via muddy... trail. But it was worth it! Was an adventure with our 5 year old.

Stunning beach and a fun scenic walk to get to it!! Just be careful tho as can be a little tricky around the rocks.

Interesting path. Go at low tide. Wear waterproof footwear or walking sandals. Have to cross river, walk over rocks, climb over trees and many roots to get to New Chums Beach. If it's been raining it would be muddy and slippery. Takes 30-40 minutes.

Short bush walking track through to New Chum's beach. Best done at low tide as the walk begins with going over the rocks at the end of Whangapoua Beach. The path has a lot of roots and rocks along the way and is best done in single file. Can get busy at peak times and probably not suitable with very young children.
