The Poynton - Metlifecare Retirement Village
Well appointed and situated retirement apartment complex. Adjacent to Smales Park bus station and shops, medical centre as well as North Shore Hospital.Amenities include, information pool, gym, indoor bowls and cafe. Croquet court outdoors etc.Some apartments have much better outlooks, and positioning for sun, than others.Good quality food in the cafe for evening dinners on nights available is superb, although this has varied over time depending on current chef at the time.Lots of community activities.

Marvelous!! We met a friend who had been there for about 2 years so we came to see Susie who gave us a very good tour of theCompound and gave us plenty to think about. We made a quick decision to join the Village who we thought was well managed 1

People here really love this place, and the refurbished croquet court. Although I note some recent discontent over internal restaurant services being cut back, and lack of paywave at the Cafe.

Very well-appointed residences. Good facilities for social activities and recreation, while individual units provide privacy and security. Excellent for those who can afford it.

It's one of many retirement homes popping up in and around Auckland; a certain same look about them. What happened to architectural inventiveness? Enclosing wall a stunner though. If you're going to buy, make sure a lawyer and accountant go through the fine details.Located close to Pupuke lake and Quarry Lake with their lovely Lakeside park. Then again North Shore Hospital right next door might also be a plus ...
