Terra and Tide

We really appreciated the knowlege of Gabrielle about the island, its history and the flora and fauna of the area. We learned so much about the positve steps NZ is taking to restore the natural habitat, the history and the efforts to protect the ecological system of Waiheke. It was interesting to see where/how the traps are set to irradiate the rodents of New Zealand. We enjoyed our lunch with Gabrielle as well as our walk in the bush. We also enjoyed learning about the native traditions, which were repeated in other cities on our travels. Loved ending the tour at a great winery.

The hike and wine tour was perfect. We loved getting to see the island from the trail and learning about the different animals and plants, and their ties to local culture, along the way. Our guide, Lucie, was friendly, personable, and knowledgeable and we really enjoyed learning about the island with her!

Perfect day on the water. A dream come true for the whānau - the Pacific Star reuniting us with Cactus Bay after many years of being locked out by foot. Our hosts, Gabrielle and Bruce, were delightful - friendly yet respectful that this was our party. Food divine. Weather sublime. Endless time … What more could we ask for? We fully recommend this experience to locals and visitors.

What a fantastic day!! First visit to Tiritiri Matangi and wonderful way to do it. Hobbs Beach absolutely stunning followed by excellent guided walk through the bird reserve to the Lighthouse and back for a lovely lunch on Pacific Star. Bruce and Gabrielle were excellent hosts and our day on Pacific Star lived up to all expectations and more.

My husband and I had such a lovely time touring the islands around Waiheke for our honeymoon! Bruce and Gabrielle were such lovely hosts and we had an amazing time learning about New Zealand wild life on our hike and seeing the ocean. They had a paddle board and kayak, which were fun to use in the Bay Area. We even saw blue penguins! Gabrielle made a fantastic lunch and charcuterie and we felt very much at home on the catamaran. Thank you for the hospitality and we look forward to coming back to New Zealand!

We were expecting a small group tour, but it turned out to be just the 2 of us. Dell was our guide & was very easy- going & willing to share her knowledge of the island. It felt like spending the day with a friend. It was our last planned activity of a 2 week trip. Couldn't have asked for a more relaxing day in a beautiful setting!

I had a very nice tour of Waiheke Island with Dell of Terra & Tide tours on March 3, 2023. Even I was the only one signed up for the tour that morning, Dell was very gracious and enthusiastic in showing me lots of interesting features of the island, topping it off with a visit to an Italian gelato shop there. This was the perfect way to begin my 3 weeks in NZ. So, I'd heartily recommend Terra & Tide to you.

Such a fantastic day! Nothing was too much trouble. There were 10 of us and we sailed from Waiheke out to The Noises for swimming and stand up paddle boarding. Wonderful healthy lunch served at Rakino. We sang an laughed a lot - champagne always helps! Thouroughly recommended.

Had a wonderful bush and wine tour with Terra and Tide and guide, Justine. We hiked on Waiheke Island which was stunning. Justine packed us a delicious lunch and then we visited two vineyards for a tasting. It was a beautiful day and we had a great time!

The day with Terra and Tide was a special birthday gift for me. We were a family party of eight with our hosts Bruce and Gabrielle. The voyage on the catamaran from Waiheke to Tiritiri Matangi Island was in good sun soaked sailing weather and while Bruce could, and did, all that is needed for safe sailing, I had the pleasure of the helm for a good part of the ride. On arrival In a crystal clear bay we swam, snorkelled and used the paddle board and kayak. A excellent lunch spread was presented and then Bruce ferried all of us over to the island for a nature walk guided by Gabrielle. The day’s mix of activities was great. We had the sailing, the water activities and Gabrielle’s talk on the bird and insect life on the island. This included the rehabilitation and restoration project on the island and other islands in the region. Back on the boat a chocolate cake with candles topped off my day. Then all too quickly the sail back to port on Waiheke. Bruce and Gabrielle are a super couple and hosts presenting a birthday outing for me which will remain solidly in all our memories.
