DoubleTree was the best hotel I have ever stayed at in New Zealand. The front desk lady was lovely; we even got a hot, fresh cookie when checking in. To make us foreigners understand easily, the front desk lady even slowed down her rate of speech, which was very considerate. My room type was a Park Suite; it had a nice balcony and a fine park view. The parlour, bedroom, and bathroom all looked great; there was even a built-in massager in the bathtub, AMAZING!16/07/2023

Great food. Probably the best prepared for every mealGreat chefsBut reception a disaster. Our priority check in for health reasons did not occur until 4.30!! Then at check out wanted to charge us for accomodation already paid for. Untrained ditherers management needs to upgrade training. Not hard.Otherwise staff friendly and helpful. Servicing of rooms hit and miss but adequate after a bit of tweak

We had a very nice two night say in December. It is very close to the botanical gardens. An easy walk downtown on a nice day. We had dinner at the restaurant on the property. Prices were reasonable considering it was a hotel. Food was pretty good. We loved the lamb. Very good wine selection and mixed drinks. The room was solid, just what you would expect from a double tree. The staff was exceptionally nice. We had just arrived with one sick kid and had been driving for five hours. The front desk staff was very kind and helpful. Hotel was very nice, good location (quiet- which was nice!). We would come back again.

Had a beautiful breakfast. A point of caution is that the barista coffee is wonderful but is not included in the buffet and is an additional charge which is quite nominal.Asked for poached eggs and was served one of the best ones I have ever eaten. 10 on 10

Quaint hotel. Peaceful and quiet, in a nice setting. Located next to Hagley Park. The Christchurch Botanic Gardens is only a 10 minute walk away.Some ground floor rooms have direct access to the hotel garden or carpark.Rooms were a little dated but comfortable enough. Well lit.Restaurant (there was only 1) and bar serve above average quality food. Menu is quite limited.Check-in and check-out process a little slow due to lack of staff. Likewise, shortage of staff can be seen in harried and overworked personnel.Hated the additional 2% surcharge when paying hotel bill(s) by credit card. Everybody is going cashless payment now! Why the need to charge an additional 2%? Ridiculous! Does the hotel prefer guests to pay with cash instead? DoubleTree need to catch up with the times.

Lovely hotel and great breakfast. Good location, not too far from the airport and a nice walk through the gardens to the city center. Accommodation was clean and very comfortable beds. The buffet breakfast was a stand out - it had so many choices!

Had a stay at this hotel in july. First experience is that the staff is not welcoming. We had to carry our work luggage after we had a travel for 10 hrs. They don’t give water, “we don’t serve water”.Had an extremely bad experience with one of the bar person (lula). She was being rude without reason.They had other customers who they were serving and doing bill but they became rude with us for their order.super unwelcoming experience. There are better hotels in christchurch.

I really enjoy my stay here. Comfortable and cozy. I love their heating bar in toilet for towel. Room featuring heating and cooling air conditioning. Try their in house steak , amazingly delicious. Room is spacious and location is convenient. They provide warm cookies upon check in too !

The hotel was really nice. The rooms are very comfortable. The ambiance was really homey-feeling. It is a walking distance to the park, restaurants and convenience stores. The thing I was amazed which I have never seen with other hotels is that they close their gates at night (10-ishp pm) and it opens in the morning around 7-ish for security.

We stayed here for one night. Our travel agent had informed & emailed them that we are there on honeymoon, yet the receptionist told us that she wasn’t informed and they didn’t give any complimentary upgrade. Though they gave free wine & cookies instead. That was a sweet gesture. The room size was quite decent though.Very weird thing, there was no shower gel near the bathtub, only shampoo, lotion & conditioner?! Plus it was in refill bottles attached, so we had no option for shower gel.We had to check the weight of our luggage but their weighing scale wasn’t working nor did they have any alternate option so that was a big bummer.Breakfast had good options for both veg & non veg.
