Absolutely beautiful and magnificent. It is truly a must-see, if possible! Not even a 5 min walk to the 'lord of the forest' the giant Kauri tree.Accessibility- Walkway is sturdy and stable enough for wheelchairs, prams, etc.Parking- Lots of parking at the entrance. There is also a place for a picnic across from the entrance. There is also another giant amongst 'the lord of the forest' see if you can spot it!

A New Zealand must-see. Incredibly old trees in a beautiful forest. It's a very short walk from the carpark along a well maintained boardwalk. Please be sure to respect the shoe cleaning measures in place to protect these giants, and stay on the tracks!

A very spiritual experience. You can feel the magnificence of this tree as it towers above the rest. Only a short 3-5 minute walk from the road.

An amazing experience to be able to view a tree as old and large as TANE MAHUTA. The walk through the KAURI forest to TANE MAHUTA is peaceful and serene and then suddenly there he is awe inspiring to say the least. The presentation by the two rangers was informative and a credit to all involved. A must visit if you are travelling in Northland NZ.

I have always wanted to see this tree and today I did, what a magnificent tree, it is huge, like a big skyscraper reaching for the sky, 2000 years old apparently and most Probably will live and grow for another 2000 years, AMAZING

Well worth the stop if you're traveling past.Such an impressive tree!Take care not to damage the forest by sticking to the paths, and ensure that you clean all mud and debris off your gear before entering.

The path to Tāne Mahuta is still open (2023-07-18) And it is worth a look. A short 5 minute path will bring you to the tall tree which stands there for around 2000 years. Crazy, just stand there and imagine what this guy saw in those years.

Majestic and spiritual place. A 1-2 min walk from the parking onsite, this behemoth of a tree surprises you as you walk your way down the boardwalk. The heavy foliage conceals its place in the forest until you get surprisingly close.I am grateful to have had the chance to see this tree in person, standing just meters away, in the soft breeze, dappled in sunlight, bird calls and quiet. The tree seems to house it's own ecosystem in it's branches above the trunk it is so large. The boardwalk bends around away from Tane Mahuta proving a view from further back, along with a variety of other large Kauri trees amongst the forest. It seems a time may come where climactic factors or biological diseases may eradicate these most unique trees, with such little native kauri forest left, seeing it and standing so close feels like a privilege that will not be present for much longer.

This is a must see, my family and I loved it. The young lady who was there as a guide was very knowledgeable not only about Tane Mahuta but also the other surrounding trees and she could take an amazing photo as well.
