Did the cape reinga flight and was utterly amazing. Seeing so much even in the water. Dolphin and shark. Sam the pilot was so knowledgeable and took us to the lighthouse and sand boarding. He was such a lovely man. Would definitely recommend if you want to see. Is well worth it steve & Heather

we did the 20min scenic flight on possibly the best day ever! water was as clear as the sky's were. the pilot was very informative and told us all about the many islands. i would 100% recommend to save up that extra $$ to be able to land on the hole in the rock! well worth the views

A great experience and the best way to see Bay of Islands in New Zealand. You cant really appreciate the beauty of this place unless you do this helicopter trip. The company is professional and the pilots are knowledgeable and give you some good information on the islands as you fly over.As far as helicopter trips go, the pricing is fairly reasonable also.To anyone visiting Bay of Islands, I would recommend doing this experience to witness the true beauty of this region!

My Wife & I did the Hole in the Rock Landing helicopter flight. Very enjoyable, good information from our pilot, Hilly (who was also a very good pilot).A great way to see the bay if you don't have time for a 4 hour boat ride. Landing on top of the rock is quite amazing, there isn't a lot of room up there. And leaving is stomach dropping fun !Definitely recommend.

Bay of islands tour by plane. Lovely weather but bad seat.My anticipation of this flight was I’m afraid crushed by the reality of my seat position. Despite being assured that ‘All seats are window seats’, the seat I was assigned to by the pilot was half window, half opaque cabin wall, with the window part in line with my shoulder. Of course I could see out , but to look even slightly forwards I had to contort my body and neck.I did tell the lady in the office after the flight, who thanked me for my feedback, and of course she was suitably surprised. So, my advice is to avoid the seat 2 behind the pilot like the plague. My experience was not good, and that seat doesn’t warrant the same price tag as the other ones. We could not land due to a flooded landing strip, so I couldn’t ask to swap on the way back.Judging by the comments regarding the land trip, with hindsight and the uncomfortable and lacklustre experience on the plane, I would seriously recommend people consider very hard before they do the plane flight, spectacular as it was.

Must do while in Paihia. I grew up in the BOI’s as a child, having seen places I visited from air view was a unique and unforgettable experience. We did the plane trip up to Cape Reinga. The pictures speak for themselves. Well worth the money spent.Daniel was an awesome local pilot, so lots of local knowledge. Thanks for the amazing day out.Only flaw, which is more of a recommendation to travellers is to pack something to eat. It’s a bit of a long day and you’ll find there aren’t any stops where you can make purchases for food. Tea, coffee and a light refreshment is offered but we were travelling with two small children and the fruit we brought with us wasn’t enough. Also if you get motion sickness take something before the trip.
