The View of Paterson Inlet From Observation Rock is one of the great free attractions on Stewart Island and a perfect evening stroll destination.

It's a great spot to see the harbour and the sun set, best to go when it isn't too windy. You can easily walk up from downtown Oban or drive pretty close to it.

You gotta go to this spot on Rakiura Stewart Island. This group of Islands anchoring Aotearoa New Zealand are soMuch of a must visit. They are awesome. Wealth worth the visit. Stay a few nights and indulge in some of this planets most awesome experiences… look them up

Best spot for views of the settlement and surrounding water. When we were there the locals seemed to be having a boat race which was an unexpected treat. Not much parking nearby and seemed to be here with many others who had the same idea at the same time.

Observation Rock Viewpoint
A very uphill short track which then turns into a small hike through the forest. You will need bug spray for this walk as the sand flies come out to feed. Beautiful spot though. A couple of benches are here too.
