It's fantastic to have a great time in hanmer. Hanmer holiday homes allows you to stay longer and enjoy what hanmer has to offer.

HHH managed the house I booked through work.Other then dust and marks on the walls, honestly no complaints we got exactly what we needed for our stay. Fridge TV cooking utensils and beds even cleaning supplies.We werent expecting a 5 start hotel but got what we expected for a holiday home.

Didn't really appreciate having to move a load of firewood from the parking space to get my vehicle off the shared driveway... couldn't get oven or TV To work so less than pleased with our stay on this occasion

We've been staying in hanmer for 20 plus years and its Not as affordable as it used to be. Extra fees that bumps up price alot more than the advertised price. Like a $74 inspection apon departure is extravagant. $220 per night was advertised price ended up being $275 per night when paying. Saying that we had problems with heating at accom and they were reasonably helpful.... But were aware of the problem we had already from previous clients but still hadnt fixed the problem and allowed us to book.

DO NOT book with Hanmer Holiday Homes, painfully and comically unprofessional! I booked this accommodation for my family of five. I noticed about 10+ different signs around the house on arrival, giving us behavioral instructions beyond reason. For example a huge cleaning list or threats to be charged extra if we don't do this or that. For example taking our rubbish with us or not to steal wood. That makes anybody feel unwelcome, plus I paid $580 for two nights, so I feel I'm fully entitled to expect a certain standard. I however do not expect to be told to make sure the place is clean for the next guests when I leave, especially when the house is dirty on arrival. HHH doesn't seem to employ any cleaners...the place was absolutely filthy. Dust everywhere, dirt on the floors and walls. When we plugged the electric blankets in and fished for the multiboard under the bed, we discovered not only piles of dust and dirt, but also someone's old knickers AND a pot of lube (Rock'n'Roll, Baby!).The shower had cracks in the bottom, so the water freely runs into the foundations, which make it unusable and actually illegal to rent out. Additionally, the smoke alarm was not working, which is of course illegal as well....but who cares about laws or safety while raking in the millions!The toilet brush had been in the house much longer than I have lived in New Zealand (10 years +). I guess HHH can get away with a working attitude like this in a tourist hot spot...minimum input, maximum $. We went and talked to HHH at their office and requested at least a partial refund. We were told they aren't responsible for the cleaning (obviously) and don't have a refund policy (clever!) - but of course a Terms&Conditions folder! They were annoyed we dared to complain. They basically admitted to have never seen the house from the inside after purchasing it not too long ago.I would have been much better off booking through Airbnb, at least I could have gotten a full refund, as they look after Guests and Hosts alike. So much for supporting local. I own and run a holiday accommodation myself...I guess I have VERY different standards. Appalling.

Nice house, firewood and heat pumps etc, great for two families, easy to deal with

Owners and guests beware!We made a booking through Air BnB for a home managed by this company. They then requested we pay an additional $1000 as a bond (nothing mentioned prior to our booking and payment), and requested this bond privately outside of Air BnB which is completely against the terms and conditions of Air BnB policies to protect both hosts and guests from scams/fraud. This is a potential legal issue for home owners and an easy way to have your property BANNED from air BnB - so tread lightly when dealing with careless people like this. After discussing this bond request with the company, they then proceeded to cancel our booking on the false basis that we are having a stag party". We had clarified already we will not be having any form of party activities so this was very rude. Obviously they were just not happy that we had called them out on thier poor behaviour and ignorance of the air BnB rules - definitely not the type of company anyone would want managing a home for them and we are gobsmacked they have been in business this long.The accusations of a 'stag party' stemmed from our group being Males aged 25-30 + dad who is in his 50's

Thrilled with our recent Hanmer Holiday Home experience. The home exceeded our expectation and the help we received from the staff was friendly, prompt and is the reason we will rebook again. Best customer service experience ever.

Always helpful with everything. Going for the 1st week of the school holidays can't wait

We had a good stay. The problem was that we left an unique, expensive item behind (and described the location that it was left to the person on the phone after we had left the south island) and apparently it was 'not found'. We know exactly where it was left and so it seems suspicious and unfortunate that we never got the item returned to us.
