New World Supermarket Orewa

Last year, I stopped shopping at Whangaparoa branch to Orewa due to their falsely advertising products. They placed the tag for lower priced items directly above (in large type) highest price item, swapping them around deliberately, it seemed. This was mainly in the fruit and vegetable produce aisle. After I left a glaringly honest review about this deceitful tactic, they changed their ways.When I began shopping at Orewa NW branch, I was pleasantly surprised by their transparency in pricing and they appeared very organised.But today, I was shocked to find they have started this exploitive business practice. Most of the egg cartons were incorrectly priced. They had marked several boxes of eggs as size 7 when they looked like Bantam's eggs, so small.I pointed out to a shop assistant, who agreed. Prices were over the top. I may think again about returning to this store, but falsely advertising products and marking them incorrectly is serious unfair trading, especially in a recession!

Big shout out to the team that operate the bakery, I love the products and the staff are always so friendly. Big shout out to Lucy who is always so friendly, polite and helpful. I purchased some donuts and mentioned they were for a friends daughter. She packaged them and kindly added a pink bow to the box. Those are the small helpful things that bring customers back again and again. Thanks team you’re amazing

Their bakery section is very good - 10/10 for the price. A lot better than the bakery section at other supermarkets (like New World whangaparaoa & countdown.) Other items like fruit & chocolate are also well priced when on special. Will go back for the baked goods :)

Wonderful, smaller supermarket. Very good alcohol selection, lots of craft beer. Awesome bakery and butchery on site - and the chicken filled rolls the deli makes are next level!!!

Well stocked, friendly staff, reasonable parking, a good place to shop.

I ordered a cake for my husbands birthday and it was so delicious!! Thank you to the awesome team that bakes the cakes. You are amazing!

Great in-store experience. Best bakery selection and quality so far of last week’s travelling. Had the Custard Slice, really enjoyed it. Store layout very well done and great presentation. No sure on the pricing, no doubt more expensive than the cheaper supermarkets. But if you want a great store and then have your groceries packed into bags of your choice at the checkout, then be prepared to pay the extra and enjoy the quality service and experience.

New World obviously aren't making enough money from groceries after charging us for shopping/parking with them for 'too long'. On new years eve we assisted my disabled mother in-law to do her groceries for an evening with family. We shopped for 2hrs purchasing groceries from her wheelchair. Have just received $85 parking ticket from New World for taking 30mins too long".Shame on you New World Orewa."

The worker names Emily H was the most helpful stuff there. She was kind and just very patient. Most workers aren't as kind as her so I'm really thankful. Recommend going to her whenever you need help.
