All Stitched Up

We used this service between Nov 2019-Feb 2020. I had my wedding dress altered and my husband's suit.The work that was done was excellent and Michelle was very helpful with my own personal feedback for each fitting. My dress fitted perfectly when she was finished.However, each time I came for a fitting or to collect an item, something had not been completed as expected and so I had to remind her and left empty handed 3 times. I was given a date in advance in time for my wedding for final collection and arrived to find that she was not even open that day and she wasn't answering her phone.On the day of the wedding my husband discovered that only ONE of his jacket cuffs had been altered and a bridesmaid ended up having to sew it by hand 15 minutes before we left!I was disappointed overall as I'd chosen this business for it's location but the stress of items not being ready when I was told they would be, then not even completed at all has meant I won't be returning.Michelle is a lovely person but seemed constantly distracted by neighbourhood happenings which affected her timeliness and focus.

I was really disappointed with my experience especially after Michelle's services had been recommended to me. Called first and arranged drop off of skirt needing alterations, at time and day specified by Michelle. Reassured that I could collect finished garment (and large pin cushion which would be made with remaining fabric) the following Friday afternoon. Arrived at 3.30pm and garment not even started on! Told to come back following morning. 11am following day and still not completed. Told to come back after 12 and pick up from the drop off box provided. Arrived 12.30pm and Michelle came running down the driveway, literally stitching the pin cushion together at the same time. Threw my skirt in a bag, stuffed in the lining which had been removed and told me I'd need to wear a petticoat. Elastic in waist was twisted and the piece she had added in was sewn in crooked. Obviously finished in haste. Pin cushion a third of the size that i had requested. Skirt still does not fit as was not adjusted as per my request. Used a different shade of cotton to the cotton that I provided which matched perfectly. Now has a darker crooked sewn line. I'm gutted and annoyed at the whole process!

Michele altered a lace bridesmaid dress for me (taking it in by several inches) and did a great job. Very impressed. Would recommend calling before you head over to collect though (just in case).

This is the best alteration service available in Christchurch, and trust me I have tried them all! I had to find an alteration place that I could recommend my clients to, when I relaunched my Personal Styling business a few years ago. After many disappointing alterations of my clothes by various alteration services I tried around Christchurch, and might I add with exorbitant prices, I finally found Michelle at All Stitched Up. Friendly, personable service, done by an expert seamstress, that gets it right every time, at reasonable rates!
