Montessori at Otari Preschool

Montessori at Otari is a great preschool, managed by a wonderful leader, Florence. We feel very fortunate to be part of it. The dedicated teachers with wealth of knowledge and experience in the Montessori approach are extremely helpful and keep parents well informed of the child’s development and wellbeing. The preschool has a vibrant and multicultural community which we felt very welcome by, coming from Auckland over a year ago. It also offers a playgroup for younger children (0-3yo) which we are also a part of. Surrounded by the Otari hills, it has a lovely village feel. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a high-quality community-focused Montessori education.

This preschool is amazing! If you can get a place for your child, you won’t regret it. Coming from another high-quality ECE we’ve been so impressed and amazed at our daughter’s development and growth in confidence during her time here. The teachers are caring, professional and highly experienced. An easy 5 stars from us, we can’t wait for our youngest to start and experience the Montessori at Otari difference too. Highly recommend!

What a wonderful preschool! My daughter just finished her preschool journey a few weeks ago and absolutely loved it there. She has grown into such a kind caring inquisitive kid. We are so happy we chose to send her there. The teachers are always very engaged, offer good feedback and we always knew she was in good hands. The facility is great and in a beautiful setting with excellent teaching tools. Keep up the good work!

Montessori at Otari is such a wonderful preschool. The kaiako (teachers) are brilliant and offer a nurturing, attentive, and respectful approach true to the philosophies of Montessori. The environment is idyllic, with a perfect space nestled within the Otari school, and the surrounding ngāhere (native bush) allows for weekly exploration. On top of all of that goodness, the parent and whānau (family) community is friendly, supportive and engaged. Our first child loves going to this preschool, and we are all looking forward to our second child joining them soon.

Montessori at Otari Preschool is the most wonderful preschool. We sent our two older children there & are thrilled to now have our third in attendance. Not only are the teachers & environment a place where your child can thrive but the whole preschool has such an amazing sense of community.

We moved our son from daycare to Montessori at Otari and are so grateful we made the switch. We were unsure how we'd manage the shorter hours with both of us working, but with a bit of help and flexibity at work it was easy and well worth the change of pace. The preschool has been fantastic. The highly skilled, nuturing teaching staff make genuine connections with each of the children and foster a wonderful love of learning. Our son has grown his self-confidence, built strong friendships, and started school with an awesome foundation.

My oldest son has been attending Montessori at Otari Preschool for the last few months and we absolutely love it. He settled in so quickly and happily thanks to the amazing care from the staff and teachers. He loves going every morning. We also are part of the playgroup, which has been such a great introduction to the Montessori approach and set my son up beautifully for preschool, and now my youngest is there too. The preschool and playgroup have a warm and welcoming sense of community among the parents, teachers and children, and we feel very lucky to be a part of this special place!

We recently moved to New Zealand and Wellington, and we feel incredibly fortunate to have found Otari Montessori. It's not just a school, it's a community of warm, engaged people coming together around young children. The teachers are incredible—caring, knowledgeable, immensely competent, and attentive—the leadership strikes a near-perfect balance of organization and accessibility, and the space is exceptional. We cannot recommend Otari Montessori highly enough.

This preschool is amazing! The staff are so supportive of your little one’s needs (and the parents) and I love the idea of the bonding with one teacher at a time when the child starts preschool for them to feel secure. I can tell the structure and support have been amazing for my toddler’s confidence and he is so excited and energised from going. I had a lot of concerns initially but very quickly they have reassured me and everything has fallen in to place. I’m so happy that my toddler is happy and learning to feel confident in being his own little person. I know when I drop him off he’s in good hands. There are so many positive reasons why this is an ideal place for us and everyone I had spoken to about it previously had all said good things.

What a wonderful wee preschool! We have just moved to Wilton and started our eldest at Montessori. The teachers and staff have been very supportive and caring which has made the switch incredibly easy. Also the community have been so welcoming to our family. Very happy we will be here for years to come.
