I tried Black Burger for the first time a few weeks back - I was seriously impressed! My burger was delicious!I'd like to thank Kai for the amazing burger! It was very busy (and he appeared to be on his own) and he still took the time to provide exceptional customer service!I'll definitely be back!

Had a Big BBQ & Vege Burger, both as combos. The Vege Burger was very highly rated by she that ate it. The Big BBQ burger was equally as big. We got slightly less fries than we should, so when the next batch was cooked got an extra helping. Great service, great food.

Ate here awhile ago, had really high hopes for this being the best burger in chch, the potential is there. It is good for sure and I know 3 stars might be abit rough, but here's the thing, the sharp aged cheddar is too overpowering for me, it hides the beef flavour big time. An alternative cheese option would be ideal. Also the bun was clearly not fresh, might have been a Sunday. They clearly know their stuff here as this style of burger is rare in NZ. Hope these guys kill it and stick around.

Not great unfortunately :( I really wanted to like it tho because I heard good things. I got a double cheeseburger and fries - Everything was quite greasy and it was just plain underwhelming. Needs sweet pickles for a better flavour and to season the meat more. Also the chips had a good seasoning but were like the bottom of the bag type chips, all tiny and crunchy not actual chips so that sucked.

Live in Oz (American by birth), down her in beautiful NZ for holiday. Always in search of a great burger….well, I think I may have found it! The wagyu beef is amazing and was cooked to perfection. My wife and I ordered doubles with the difference between she got the “Bacon” and I got the “Classic” with onion rings and fries. Everything was cooked to order to perfection. Thanks to the boys at Black Burger!….bring it to Oz! Keep kicking goals!

I don't give this review lightly. This was by far the best burger I have eaten in my life and I GENUINELY don't think anything can top this. I've eaten at many cult burger places in New Zealand and the US and I can confidently say this is better than every single one. It is exactly perfect. The best smash burger place hands down and period.The service was great too and staff were friendly!If you love smash burgers you will absolutely love black burger. My only wish is that I could give this place a trophy.Please eat it while its fresh and hot.
