Cowboy Paradise
Enjoyed our night at Cowboy Paradise. The dinner and accommodation were great, especially considering that the lodge has only generator run electricity. Clean rooms and good beds. Those who are comfortable having their beliefs challenged might want to ignore some of the previous negative comments. Mike is certainly a personality but is a softie at heart. It’s important for everyone to have a voice and we should be considerate of this.

We stayed here in November, a group of 10 plus one other couple. We had a great time. The showers were the best ever, rooms were tidy ad the roast meal was fantastic. Mike is a very interesting host, and seems to only prefer overnight guests. Go with an open mind and you will have a fantastic time

Had heard many rumours, both great and not so great. However, I arrived by car on a very wet day. I was welcomed with complimentary coffee or tea in a lovely warm saloon to await my friends.Later all shown to tidy, warm rooms. Fantastic showers, wonderful roast dinner, lovely breakfast and a cut lunch. We enjoyed the experience...give it a go!

Stayed for one night while cycling the Wilderness Trail. Looked a bit ramshackle as we rode in but Mike was very welcoming and the main bar/dining room was great to meet the other guests and have a cold beer on the balcony- stunning views down the valley. Accomodation buildings were newish and rooms were very clean and comfortable - ensuite shower was outstanding. Food was excellent - roast lamb chops, chicken and loads of vegetables for dinner. It is very remote so electricity is on a generator which is turned off over night so charge up e-bike batteries and phones early. Loved the Cowboy Western theme and country music playing all evening and a breakfast. Mike is a real character and we found him polite and a pleasure to deal with.

If you can, ride past this place and don't stop! Went in with low expectations, but unfortunately even those were too high. Hard to relax when the owner is barking arbitrary rules at you and seemingly going out of his way to make your experience uncomfortable. It beggars belief that someone with such distaste for people and human interactions would run a hospitality business! The ride itself is beautiful, and to be fair, the facilities at Cowboy paradise are totally fine, just don't expect warm hospitality.

Despite the name, I’be been welcome by very friendly girls. I was the only guest, in a place which really reminds the old west. Funny.contrary to the wild west, rooms are very clean, food vegan (on my request) and a huge lounge room with hundred of DVD’s, all just for me.Sleeping in the night was very silent, dark and quiet. The only defect is price, which is too high. But there are no many choices around here.

Clean and tidy accommodation, food was very good as well. Couldn't complain about anything! A nice roast for dinner and hot shower was great after a long day biking. As others have mentioned just go with an open mind and don't ask too many questions ;)

We stayed here in December and couldn't fault it. The room was clean and tidy. Beds were comfortable, best showers ever and our meal was awesome. Roast lamb chops and loads of roast and fresh vegetables. Mike is definitely a character which added to our enjoyment. Go with an open mind and remember, you're not staying in a 5 star city hotel with all the bells and whistles. Appreciate it for what and where it is. Stunning views from the balcony.
