Paritutu Centennial Park
This park has several entrances, one st the foot of Paritutu rock overlooking the port and the old New Plymouth Power Station site, where you can climb the rock up stairs and a steep rock path assisted at times with chains. The view is spectacular! Other entrances give access to the clifftop bushwalk or Back Beach. The eastern clifftop car park also leads to an awesome steep sand slide to the beach below.

The views from the top of Paritutu Rock are so beautiful, definitely worth the climb, highly recommend.

Once you find the stairs its great to get down to the beach.Hard work for asthmatic or sore knees, but take your time. It's worth it.Mostly has handrails
