We are born and bred kiwis that have just spent 12 months traveling the north island, and we enjoyed fish and chips from most parts of the land. We have eaten at this fish and chips twice before and it was great. Unfortunately tonight they took the prize for the worst I have ever had. $ 4.50 for fish that was only 10mm wide and thick is a blatant attempt at ripping off visitors to methven. Sharpen up Frydays you have lost another of your core local customers.Absolutely don’t recommend them, a potter of two minute noodles would by better

I ordered the fish,egg and chips meal. Egg wasn't there but another peice of fish and the smallest portion of chips for $12.My partner got the mixed grill which included two peices of onion rings that was really dry (almost burnt) and the batter on the meat pattie wasn't cooked on the inside, still had the doughy consistancy. Wasn't worth the $17.Service is quick and friendly but can really only say the fish was good. Everything else was average and not worth the price.
