The Road Trip New Zealand

We booked through The Road Trip NZ for our recent customized self driving 15 days tour of North and South Islands for 9 people in January. The manager, Matt, was very knowledgeable and helpful during booking process which took several weeks of adjusting itinerary to fit our requests and availability tours and accommodations. They were available to assist during our trip when we had big issue with one hotel booking ( turned out to be the hotel mistake) and promptly moved us. Our whole group were happy with the booking and the detail information provided for our drive as well as the support. Minor issues we encountered during the trip were mostly related to staffing problems at many places in NZ and not from The Road Trip NZ.

My fiancé did a residency in New Zealand 25 years ago and has dreamed of returning. Furthermore, his dream has always been to get married on a volcano. So, in 2023, I was able to make both items happen BUT not without the help of The Road Trip.Upon first contact, I knew this travel agency was different…they listened and advised. For instance, there was one beach that I wanted to see but a gentle reminder was provided that the drive would take >8 hours and with all other excursions it would be difficult. It was refreshing to receive this assistance/feedback and so very much appreciated.We started our trip with 13 days on the South Island where we were promptly greeted by a Road Trip member who helped with our luggage and ensured our rental car was correct. The team placed us in wonderful premium accommodations with jaw-dropping (I’m not kidding) views and simply amazing food. During this time, there was a cancellation and very quickly we were informed of the change with all available options.After 13 glorious days on the South Island, we took the ferry from Picton to Wellington for another 13 days on the North Island. During our first stop in Wellington, the Road Trip ensured we had accommodations where we could do laundry. A great and thoughtful gesture. After leaving Wellington, we continued our journey north with accommodations ranging from the beach to the rain forest to a beautiful marina to a hotel room with a 270-degree view of Auckland (see pictures). STUNNING!During one of the last five days, my fiancé and I were married on a volcanic island only accessible by helicopter as the sun set. Simply an amazing location and experience. As you may imagine, finding a photographer to go on such a journey was tough. But again, the Road Trip came through with a suggestion. We could not have been more satisfied with the locations the photographer picked: Bastion Point, Mission Bay, the Viaduct region, and The Cove - Devonport.During our 26 days, there was never a time where we felt we could not reach a Road Trip team member if there were questions; email and phone communication was suburb (thanks Shani). The Road Trip made our time in New Zealand unforgettable. We cannot wait for the Road Trip to plan our Australia/New Zealand vacation. Thank your Road Trip for making our marriage/honeymoon so memorable.

The road trip did a wonderful job of booking our 17 day trip to New Zealand. from car rental - north and South Island - to all of our lodging and excursions. the hotels were great and so were the excursions - they did a wonderful job - were very responsive - very professional. I highly recommend them, it was great to be able to drive my wife and I - to see all of NZ and not have to do the bus tour thing. We have traveled all over the world -- I have never met friendlier people - who are willing to help. the most common reply I heard the entire trip was ------- no worries ---- everyone said and meant it ---- you must go to NZ -- it is a wonderful place Dr Dave Cramer

What a beautiful country New Zealand is. We (four of us) had the pleasure of driving across both islands over 25 days. The entire trip was organized by The Road Trip" company. It is quite a complex exercise to acquire a suitable car

This trip had a great mix of cities, activities and attractions to enjoy. My favorite day was visiting the Hobbiton movie set. My husband's favorite was River Valley Lodge where we went white water rafting on the same river they shot the River Anduin for Lord of the Rings. It was truly a hidden gem that we never would have found on our own. The Road Trip communicated clearly and quickly with us whenever we had to make any changes or if we had any concerns. I definitely recommend having them plan your New Zealand trip! If we get a chance to visit again, we will definitely be return customers!

We travelled with our family to the South Island of New Zealand. It was spectacular in all respects. Our experience planning the trip was very inclusive. Our guide, Constance, made every day adventure filled while also being care free. And New Zealand is the most beautiful place I have every visited. Everywhere you look is stunning.I recommend visiting New Zealand and ensuring that your trip maximizes your time and enjoyment by working with The Road Trip New Zealand.

We travelled with The Road Trip in 2022. My wife and I completed the two night Doubtful Sound cruise and two nights at Fiordland Lodge.It was the second time we used this company to plan our holidays and we would recommend it to anyone that wants hassle free good value short breaks. The doubtful sound cruise was very special. We have stayed at Fiordland Lodge twice and really enjoyed our stay. The most memorable part of the trips are always the wonderful people we met along the way.

Awesome company and service. We started knowing only that we wanted to visit NZ and have a couple of specific experiences... the team looked after us from there, and made sure we had all the key elements to the trip. New Zealand is beautiful .... I heard about this statement from several of my friends. This time I experienced it. Thanks to Road Trips team for pulling out the exciting itinerary and making all the bookings. The drive and stay were amazing. Hotels were in perfect location and services at the hotel were very good. I would really like to thank the entire Road Trip team to make this visit to NZ a memorable one.
