Epic Timber Trail Shuttles & Bike Hire

Awesome 2-day wilderness mountain biking family adventure (kids 14 & 16). Beautiful scenery through the forest and amazing suspension bridges. Very impressed with the glamping family tent and camp facilities. Paul, Julian and team were very accommodating, knowledgeable and we felt well looked after. Would definitely recommend!

I had a million questions for Paul prior to completing the timber trail, he always replied in a timely manner and answered all questions honestly. When another company let us down with e bikes, Paul and his team stepped in and able to provide us with what we needed.Fantastic experience from beginning to end! Amazing trek, and the glambing in the middle of the wilderness is top class. Specially a new facilities are world class.

We had a fantastic time with the Epic Timber Trail shuttles team. Julian (owner) was a great chat, really enjoyed he and his family’s friendly welcome and handy tips. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to conquer the trail.

It was forecast to be a wet couple of days - and we were given the chance to postpone the trip if we wanted. An email about what weather to expect came the day before our trip. We brought our own e-bikes with us - but were given the same amount of briefing and cheery introduction as everyone else. The trail is fine to do in the rain, not muddy or slippery - yes, we got soaked the first day - but the hot showers, fire, cosy beds and sheets, plus a warm welcome at Camp Epic was excellent. Anna helped with providing clothes lines to dry clothing and shoes and the atmosphere was great. There were a couple of families who enjoyed roasting marshmallows around the fire pit while I enjoyed a sneaky wine from the chairs on our tent deck. I would thoroughly recommend Camp Epic!

We went on the Timber Trail in mid December 2022 supported by the Epic team. This was our second time using their services. They provide great information about the area and the trail. The glamping setup is fabulous and comes with breakfast supplies, including eggs, so you can have a great breakfast before hitting the road. Great family run business.

Paul and his son are great. Friendly, know the area well, brief you very well, take safety seriously. Camp Epic is beautiful, facilities are the best you will encounter on a NZ camping ground. You can camp yourself with a tent or stay in their glamping tents.

Very impressed. Great service at Ongarue. Comfortable transfer with an excellent briefing from the driver. Stopped to have a rest and lunch at Camp Epic and was hugely impressed with how welcome we were made as well as quality of facilities. Thanks for setting the scene for a fabulous day out on the bike. I will most definitely use you guys again next time.

Just the best weekend from start to finish. Awesome service from Paul in response to all our questions, top quality bike hire, excellent intel and briefing about the track and a superb ride. The facilities at Camp Epic were perfect - and those showers really do feel like the best in NZ! The whole thing was reasonably priced too. Used these guys for their shuttle and stayed at camp epic for our timber trail ride. Everything was well organised and the camp was great. Beds are comfy, the showers are great and it was nice having a wood burner in the evening when it dropped cold.
