The Hotel Nelson

One of the best hotels I have stayed at in a while. Had to extend the booking on arrival and staff were very helpful and accommodating at moving things around for us. Rooms are nice and spacious; car parking just outside is excellent. Highly rate the restaurant attached to the hotel, it is nice to have a good dining option on your doorstep!

Prefect location to stay in Nelson.I always stay here!!Friendly staff, good restaurants and bar for brekafast, lunch and dinner.Heaps of parking for all type of vehicles.No noisy rooms

the hotel itself was fine, but no where in thr booking or confirmation letters I got did it ever say there would be a $200 bond also! why is that even needed? Such a awful situation to be put in at the reception desk.will never stay here again due to that fact!

Wonderful staff. We got stuck in the south Island with no accommodation. They were able to move a few things around and made sure we could stay in the same room. Made it so much easier for us. Rooms were lovely and clean. Great location. Easy short walk to heaps of locations. Would highly recommend.

We were in the Studios which I think are perhaps accomodatio units that predate the hotel.The room was clean and nice and the bed very comfortable.However the room didn't feel as secure as the new part of the hotel, especially the back door to the unit which had no chain or latch.Would stay here again bit would ask for a different part of the hotel.

Clean, well organized and well equipped! Great to have the pool and easy parking. Also has a handy restaurant at the front. Easy to stay in, especially with kids and having good kitchen to cook from in room!

Warning: If you do not have a Credit card, they require a $200 cash bond. They do not operate the facility to put a hold on a Debit Credit card. (I don't own or operate any credit cards, only visa debit)Either you have to front up with hard cash, or they will require an eftpos payment - which is then credited back in to your account when you check out. You have to have this $200 available otherwise you will NOT be able to check inOn check out i was in a queue of 3 people waiting for their refund .. mine declined on them 3 times which turns out to be a limit on their eftpos machine. This was then remedied with another machine.The others in the queue were also disappointed and surprised at the $200 bond.

Friendly staff, room was top notch.The restaurant service was true Kiwi hospitality. Friendly and helpful staff. The food was 10 out of 10. It was cooked to perfection. Good size servings. Beautiful place to stay. Highly recommended. I will stay there again for sure.

Reasonable price, handy to shops/town and restaurant available.Hubby son and I had a double queen room with kitchenette. Cooktop, micorwave cookery all available in room. Beds were comfortable and room was clean. Bathroom had peeling paint above shower and shower door leaked water out the bottom onto the floor (very slippery) we ended up lining the bottom gap with a spare towel. Alot of light polution over night so take an eye mask if that bothers you. Otherwise a nice hotel thats affordable
