Petone Beach Dog Exercise Zone
Great dog walking spot. Big carpark opposite Bunnings. It's usually busy if the weather is nice. BYO balls or just pick up a stick for your dog. Plenty of large bits of driftwood along the way for having a seat and taking a break. Bags are usually available and rubbish bins are in several places. My favourite place to take my dog.

An awesome place to walk with lots of breeze from the sea side.It's a beautiful view where on one side you have the green bushy mountains and the other side with the blue sea.It's very cold and refreshing for the people and their pets. The dogs can walk and run around, play and have fun.In the mornings and the evenings, there would be mist covering the mountains and it's a bliss to watch that.

The dog (Lily) loves it here, there's plenty of space, less so when the tide is in so bare that in mind. There's always a few dogs to meet. Many smells to sniff and sticks to throw. Lily loves to run up and down, I don't think we've ever left the beach without coming home with lily falling asleep on a lap. Perfect place to just let dogs run. There's decent parking as well. And there's doggy bags at either end if you need.

Petone Beach Dog Exercise Zone
A lovely space for dogs, with excellent recall, to run free, socialise & swim.Currently, there are major ground works at the Western End of the beach which has taken over most of the grassed area. Long term this will hopefully be a positive because a new Harbour Walkway is under development. It will be interesting to see how this enhancement for Wellington & Lower Hutt will affect the dog off lead restrictions. It will be devastating if they are taken away.

This end of petone beach always nice for a change as long as you don't mind dogs. We don't have one but our boys like petting them and watching them run around and in the water. They especially like taking the diggers and digging in the sand or throwing sticks into the stream that runs down to the sea. Great place to visit.

Great spot on any day. Western end ideal for dogs. Watch out for opportunist thieves breaking into cars!
