Better Half Kitchen & Bar
Amazing! Lunch today for 6 of us and every entree, main and dessert was yum. Garlic bread, pork belly, squid, brisket burgers, risotto and the chunky fried potatoes all get a special mention. The service was terrific, so friendly and no long wait times for food even though it was very busy. We'll definitely be back to try all your other menu offerings. Thanks for a lovely relaxing Sunday afternoon.

We had a wonderful dinner at “Better Half Kitchen and Bar”. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the ambiance of the restaurant blends in to make it a pleasant evening out. The waitress was pleasant, friendly and professional.For a starter we had garlic bread with cheese which was absolutely delicious!!Main-course we had beef cheek accompanied with vegetables. The meal was well balanced, sufficient quantity and the flavours were amazing. The beef cheek melted in your mouth.Dessert we had lemon cheesecake and sticky date pudding these dishes were well presented and so so delicious!!Definitely a thumbs up for this restaurant and will be returning again very soon, exceptional food, service and ambiance. Food 5⭐️, service 5⭐️and ambiance 5⭐️.

Do you know about the Better Half Restaurant in Leithfield SH1...we dined tonight at The Better Half Restaurant in Leithfield. This place is an absolute gem! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm hospitality and a friendly smile. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, perfect for a romantic night out or a gathering with friends.The menu was simply amazing, featuring a variety of dishes that are sure to please any palate. The flavours were spot on, and each dish was prepared to perfection. The Blue Cod was a standout for me, with its perfectly cooked smashed potatoes (beyond perfect) and succulent Buttermilk Chicken Burger and those heavenly smashed potatoes (again). The deserts were to die for....the Lemon Cheesecake accompanied by a delicious lemon curd sauce and ice cream and the Sticky Date pudding. Spectacular.In addition to the amazing food, the service was top-notch. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and was attentive to our needs throughout the meal. The waitstaff was friendly and efficient, making sure that our dining experience was nothing short of excellent.Overall, I would highly recommend the Better Half Restaurant to anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience. The food and service were simply amazing, and I can't wait to come back and try more dishes! We were totally surprised and impressed. The photos don't do it justice. Wow wow wow driven past this place a few times in the short time we’ve lived North Canterbury…. Such a great local experience… great brekkie even for my difficult dietary needs … heads up the coffee is excellent to… friendly happy staff and even the owner came out for a meet and greet…Totally recommend a visit here …

Great place for a breakfast, with great positioning to the sun in their outdoor area. Wait staff had great hospitality and made a seriously good coffee. We got the eggs Benedict with an added hash brown and it was 5 stars - I was a bit delayed with the photos so will upload more next time we are there!

Mothers Day dinner, very busy restaurant but the service was excellent. Meals were prepared quickly but the highlight was the white chocolate and lemon curd cheesecake, delicious!

Wonderful lunch next to the fireplace. The food was delicious, and the staff were friendly, professional, and served with a smile. Lovely visit, and we will definitely be back again!

Very good food, very nice staff but due to understaffed situation the service was a little slower than usual. The staff was amazing and very nice though! The food was very very good and tasty and also came in a decent portion. They also have a nice collection of beers, some of them are local, which is always a plus. Overall, great experience and a better staffed team would make it just perfect. I should also mention the spotless toilet facilities. Something we don't see too much these days.
