Ombrellos Kitchen & Bar
Some friends and I stopped in for a drink and a snack. Despite the rain it was cozy and comfortable. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable and they had some great Kiwi beers on tap. Snacks were tasty too. We all agreed that we would gladly return. Also they have a really pretty patio that we didn't get to enjoy.

Booked a table for 8 in one of the private rooms for my daughters graduation after celebration. Evening started off ok but following initial drinks, entrees and taking of main orders, our waiter came in and said the kitchen was struggling with orders so there would be delays. Then he disappeared. Went to find him after 45 mins and asked where the mains were - he said they had run out of steak and had gone out to buy more (supermarket eh???).Then another member of the wait staff came in and said they would take some drinks off the bill and the meals wouldn’t be too far off……another 25 mins later, food arrived and was average (menu stated steaks would be medium rare…ranged from well done to rare). Not a great performance for a special occasion and outstandingly poor communication no matter how busy they were.

Nice friendly Bar and Restaurant. Loved the space, great use of old cottages. The service was efficient and friendly, the chefs even waved. Food was great. I enjoyed the mushroom risotto with chicken added. My wine was nicely chilled and probably explained why I spent so much at Kilt afterwards. Overall the atmosphere and space really made for a great lunch.

Food was brutally average, and over priced for the quality. Service was slow, and a bit lacklustre.Good selection of beer, wouldn't come for the food.

Such a tasty meal. I had venison, husband had steak. Both meals cooked to perfection. Very pleasant service too.

Very pleased with food selections! Had a huge delicious steak with side of slaw and kumara chips. Super yummy!There is a great collection of beers on tap and in the bottle. You choose !They are nicely accommodating food allergies and offering several options.Desert was also yummy!I recommend to visit this place . You wont regret it !

The food was alright, service was terrible. Didnt get our table cleared at all, and we were there chatting for a very long time after our meals. No soda water, and served a shot of whisky (that we wanted with soda water) in a beer glass..... pork belly was tough and dry, pulled pork tacos were also dry, polenta chips were nice. Platter looked great. Slaw is the main ingredient to accompany alot of the food.

I really enjoyed Ombrellos. I got the Ombrellos big breakfast (picture 1), which was very filling. It was well cooked and the sauce on the potatoes was a good choice- light and spicy, but not overpowering. The bread was very nice as well.The coffee was a bit cold when it came out, however, and a bit underwhelming and lacking in flavour, unfortunately. However, it was a nice experience overall. Kid friendly and nice staff.
