We got a totally unexpected upgrade for a start. We have absolutely nocomplaints. Highly recommended to stay. Real value for money

Lovely warm room, loved the spa very relaxing very comfortable and warm lovely beds.. accommodated us all really well. Found sm mouse poo in the kitchen drawers n a wasp in the bathroom sink overflow hole.. but otherwise pretty fine. Thank you

Great place to stay! The staff were friendly and rooms were clean and tidy

Our private room was very loud. Right next to the road, and trucks, cars, pedestrians were audible. An alright space though, and other rooms seemed better.

Nothing special but reasonably cheap comfortable accommodation.My room consisted of two bunk beds a small bookcase and heater.Not sure why it needed a bookcase.Place was tidy, clean and comfortable.And I would stay there again.

Beware of the wattage/amps the outlets here put out. It ruined my international charger that I’ve literally never had a single problem with before. It was charging incredibly slow so I examined it closer, it smelled liked smoke and when I touched my charger it actually burnt me. Something is off with the electricity here. So don’t risk ruining and having to replace your devices like I have. The owner is absent and leaves the hostel to be run by volunteers. One was friendly but both of them smoke cigarettes right next to the kitchen so if you don’t want to smell smoke when relaxing or cooking, I advise you stay elsewhere. This is all very unfortunate because the facilities are quite nice. Nice kitchen, clean bathrooms, my bed was comfortable but all the mattresses were a bit different. I definitely felt some that were not comfortable. Lots of bugs as well since they leave the doors and windows open all day and night. Decent place but not quite worth the high price tag in my opinion, especially since replace my expensive international charger as well.

Didn't realise that we booked a room upstairs with no bathroom on the second floor. Definitely got my steps in.

No towels, the water just drains super slow from the basin as it's blocked and the bed side tables are filthy. The bed sags by the bum and rock hard, feels like it was made in the seventies. The staff have a careless attitude. For 100 plus dollars.... Worst place yet. I truly am astonished!

Once was good. Now overcrowded, inaccurate advertising, rude staff, and stinks. Yes, it smells like a adolescent gymnasium locker room. There are other options nearby which are cheaper, with clean rooms, friendly staff, and great food.There is absolutely no reason at all to go to Bluemoon Lodge. It is now among the worst accommodation in New Zealand.Although it must be said, Havelock has some beautiful views of the harbour and this place is no exception.

Good budget option. Nice cosy room with share bathroom and kitchen facilities. Kitchen has fridge/freezer space and basic cooking gear. Owners were lovely!
