Hooker Valley track
The whole way to here was so beautiful, it was a great drive. The track is not hard at all, can be finished in 3 hrs. The lake was not completely frozen that day, but it was still fun. I was really stunned by the magnificent landscape here.

Hooker Valley track
This is a must do trek in NZ and it's VERY busy because of that. Go early and offseason if you want more seclusion. Easy walk, views are unreal the whole way. I especially loved the bridge crossings, amazing experience. Very muddy and icy this time of year so hiking boots are recommended.

Hooker Valley track
Beautiful scenic trail from start to end. 5km one way. The sign says 3h but it took me about 2h 10 mins. Went in the afternoon so the glacier mostly melted I think, but still a beautiful sight nonetheless. Very easy hiking trail.

Hooker Valley track
Great hike, not too difficult however can be challenging if you are not prepared. Get good hiking waterproof boots, raincoats , or check weather before you hike , start hiking before mid day to be able to enjoy the view, it can get dark pretty soon in winters , in summers though time might vary, it takes total 2.5 hrs if you are walking at your own pace. The glacier view is after passing three bridges. There will be a public toilet before you start the trail and near 2 bridge after that there is no public toilet.

Hooker Valley track
We have done this hiking in Mai 2023. We started around 9 AM and we were kind of sads because the weather was very cloudy/ fog was quite down. But like every time in this wonderful country the nature surprises us. Once we got to the first bridge the firsts rays of sunshine appeared.The hike is quite easy - you just have to love walking. Take in consideration that in total the DOC speaks about 3 hours.Do not hesitate it is a very pleasant walk !

Nice walk, not too steep - although quite slippery when it freezes. Beautiful views all the way. Gets quite busy when the weather is nice

Hooker Valley track
Amazing walk and easy enough for everyone. Beautiful views the entire walk and then the grand finale at the end. Make sure you take lots of water and sunscreen it is mostly in direct sun and very hot. Earlier is probably better. Pack a lunch to enjoy on the picnic tables before you turn back around.

Really beautiful walk and very well maintained trail, some sensational views in the first few kmQuite a busy trail, but not crowded in JuneWhen you eventually arrive at the lake the silence is broken by people constantly trying to launch the biggest rock they can through the frozen lake.Bit sad we can't just enjoy the natural beauty without feeling the need to smash things

Hooker Valley track
Exceptional hike and beautiful scenery. Arrive early since the hike will get busy. We arrived at 8:30 and had most of the hike to ourselves. Made the experience much more enjoyable. The hike back many were making the way to the lake. Today we saw many icebergs, very cool!
