Had our photos taken by Gareth. He made it so much fun, such a great experience even took the extra time for my son with asd. Can't wait to get them taken again with some extra whanau. Highly recommend them to anyone looking for some amazing family photos

Had some amazing pictures taken by Gareth & T. A good range of props n costumes to use, offered genoapay as an option to pay which came in very handy, very professional, friendly and engaging, i have no problem highly recommending Poihakena Portraits.

My brother, sister and I jumped at the chance to attend a Māori styled photoshoot while Poihakena Portraits were in Sutherland for the day and we couldn't be happier that we did! The 45-minute session went seamlessly and was well organised. Teowai made us feel instantly welcomed and comfortable. We were so pleased with how our portraits came out and these taonga will hang in our whare for decades to come. I would highly recommend any Australian Māori whānau to keep an eye out on the Poihakena Portrait Facebook page for when they're travelling portrait sessions are coming near you!!!

My whanau were recently lucky enough to have our photos done with Poihakena whilst they were over in Aus and what an awesome experience. Booking all the way through to receiving the images yesterday was great. We had a group of 12 of us including 2 little ones and we all love the images. These will be lasting special photos to be cherished generation after generation.
