Chill - Explore With Us

We were in town for only a couple of days and Chill accommodated us with a last minute booking and set up a city tour for the next morning. The touring bikes were in great shape and perfect for easy city riding. Jim was a great tour guide and shared lots of facts, history and experiences of Christchurch and indulged our many questions about urban redevelopment, forestry and culture.

We did the full day rental, staff were very helpful and guided us with suggestions and maps. Bikes were great, locked them as we toured the Botanical Gardens and took the tram. Rode out to Brighton along the river. I would recommend these folks. Lots of bike options and easy location near the Art Museum.

The staff at Chill Explore were all very nice and helpful. My wife and I were booked in for a walking tour around Christchurch. We were guided by the most wonderful lady, Clare Hastings.When Clare arrived, she joked that she often runs over time on her walks and she did exactly that, by quite a bit. This was very much appreciated as you can imagine.This was our first trip to New Zealand, and we were keen to learn a bit more from someone from the city.The walk was at a reasonably slow pace, taking in all Clare chose to elaborate on.Clare is such a pleasant and informed guide; she was just so easy to talk to and made the tour so enjoyable.Up until this point, we had been touring all over the South Island for 2 weeks experiencing helicopter flights, shark attack rides and much more, but this walk was as good as anything we'd done on our holiday.Highly recommend.

Turned up at 5pm to ask about a rental for the next morning. Adam was great got a bike adjusted for size on the spot added a garmin mount and suggested a number of routes to get in a decent ride. Staff next day were also v friendly.

We hired a couple of bikes for the day to explore the red zone in Christchurch. The person who handed them over to us was extremely helpful and patient with us, thorough and professional and also very friendly. The bikes were excellent, however I did manage to break the chain on mine and they had a mechanic out to us within 10 minutes on his 10 speed and he fixed it right up and took it for a test ride, he was excellent value. I couldn't be more impressed with the service here, highly recommended. A+, would definitely deal with them again.

We arrived at Christchurch from a cruise ship and the full day ebike hire was perfect for our family of 4.Communication prior was great, and Stu was super accommodating to get us dropped off and picked up near Lyttleton.Was very impressed and would definitely recommend.Good work team!

My husband and I booked a bike ride on the rail trail with Chill. From start to finish the experience was top notch.Nicole who handled the booking was helpful and understanding about our uncertainty re: which specific itinerary to choose. She offered multiple options and was kind enough to answer lots of questions.The e-bikes performed perfectly on the mostly gravel trail with quite a few bridges and livestock crossings. Stu, the business owner is passionate about the environment and customer service.We recommend them highly for the many outdoor activities they outfit and support. So grateful for the fantastic ride we had today!

Wow, yesterday morning dropped of my BrompTon for a service, I had some gear problems. In the afternoon I've got a message that my BrompTon was fixed.I've picked him up and was very happy that my bike was ready to go.I'm very happy with the service that is given to my BrompTon.Thank you for bringing my bike ride again.You will soon see me back as my BrompTon deserve a Golden service.

Hired a bike for the Little River rail trail in the weekend. Bike was good but it did play up for half my ride. Rang the shop and they suggested a fix and to call back for more help if required. Luckily I didn't need the extra help as the bike was fine. I was impressed that upon pick up they took the time to check that it was fitted to you correctly and also checked that you could handle the bike by giving you a couple trial runs in their courtyard. They also provided a helmet, bike lock, charger, spare tube and tool in case of emergencies. Super helpful! Minus one star because of the bike issues - it had been fitted with a new monitor so not sure what the issue was.

I signed up for a tour, but there was not enough people to do a tour. Nicole was kind enough to reach out to me and offer other options. I was able to rent a gravel bike with SPD pedals to ride around town.Once I got to the store, I was helped by Stu. Stu gave me a map and showed me how to have a good ride around Christchurch. He even offered up a restaurant at the beach that was good and I was glad to take him up on it. The map was great to have and Stu made a wonderful day of cycling around Christchurch for me.I can't say enough kind things about Chill - they're awesome.
