Nice resort hotel 15min walk outside of town. Quiet. Mercure is up the mountain, 5-minute off the bus line ($2). Free parking.Beautiful view of lake and mountains from the bar lounge. Best frothy Espresso Martinis!! As well as filtered water station at bar.We booked a garden view w 2 double beds and were quite happy. Super comfy beds. Big TV. Small fridge. Bathroom has nice bath-wash and shampoo included.Soundproof walls a bit more, we could hear the talking in room next door.Nice gym. Cold outdoor pool for quick dip and 2 outdoor jacuzzis (water was dirty and murky, could be much cleaner).April/May 2023 Wear warmer clothes, no snow but chilly outside

I will preface this review by saying the duty manager was lovely and did an excellent job. However, there were multiple issues which were totally unacceptable for a 4 star hotel. There was disgusting mold in the shower in our room so we were given a new room. In the new room the carpet was coming up and the air vents in the bathroom were filthy and there was mold in the window sill. The brochure in the room said that you can get two free drinks if you forgo having your room serviced. The girl on the desk didn't believe me and made me return to the room and show her the brochure. The lake view was obstructed by a large ugly metal fence which is absent from all the pictures of the room. The food was awful and over priced. The steak was small and the pasta almost inedible.Possibly worst of all, milk carton in the room was OPENED - which is a huge health risk.

Rooms are comfortable enough, though somewhat dated, especially the bathroom. Unfortunately for us, we barely had a view (of the garden) and we were the second last room away from the entrance. With a baby, thisade life somewhat difficult - trekking back and forth each day.The location is largely saved by the magnificent views it offers from the restaurant and bar. Otherwise, stay closer to town - many options - and will save you loads on either parking (expensive if you have a hire car) or on taxis and Ubers. Okay if you like walking, but with children, or meeting early tours, weather change or lugging ski items - it's a bit far out of Q'town CBD and up a hill.Despite the ease of parking, check-in and lovely staff. There are some downs internally. Lift options are limited to certain hours, Room service fee/tray charge is somewhat ridiculous. Breakfast buffet is underwhelming for the price, in comparison to other options ($35ish and you don't get real coffee...), Restaurant is pricey.Enjoyed our stay because we made the most of it. But if given the chance would choose an alternate hotel.

Customer service was great. Rooms were spacious but bathroom could have been a bit cleaner. Complimentary tea and coffee, would be nice if the milk was refilled daily as we ran out on day 1. Towels, soap and shampoo were provided. Room service did not refill toilet paper each day. Bins did not have bin liners. Our room overlooked the pool but meant we had to keep our curtains closed the whole time, and the room light was not very bright at all (only light was at the entrance and the wall where the curtains were so the middle of the room was quite dark). People in the corridor can easily be heard so sometimes it can be quite loud. Spa pool was a bit dirty with insects and leaves inside. Gym was quite small but still managed to get a good workout in. No breakfast included in the room rate. Not enough onsite parking and street parking was quite full (we only managed to get a spot on-site on one day). Not easily walkable to town and very steep if you did want to try. Beautiful views out to the lake and surrounding mountains from the balcony and gym.Overall comfortable but not amazing.

Stayed for 2 nights. Bed was big and comfy but room was average, had a garden view, would have been ok if I could see a garden not an overgrown messy area. Shower was good but bathroom on a whole was a letdown but we were not in room much anyway so really didn’t matter, although an update might be a good idea. Restaurant not available on first night due to a group booking (which could have been held in another room) they also used this reason as an excuse for the budget menu (of which they were happy charging a ridiculous amount) however menu was the same on the second night…. Breakfast was usual buffet stuff. Bacon was hard and chewy. Not worth the price you pay for it.

Matching with the expectations : amazing view on the lake from the restaurant, clean rooms (would need a refreshing touch), the breakfast is good. Nice 20min walk to the city center with a beautiful view on the lake.Nice and helping staff.

It's definitely not a 4 star standard but the lake view room had breathtaking views. Stayed there for 7 days and pretty much had the same breakfast every day. Lifts make horrible noises and the overall feel of the hotel is more like 3 stars. It's a bit further away from the town and you would need a taxi/car ride to go do basic things. Hotel Parking gets full at night so you have to seek parking on the road. Swimming pool is amazing with mountain views. Overall a good experience for me.
