Wanganui Repertory Theatre

Still very relevant in its reglar theayrical productions.

Repertory has been part of the wanganui amateur dramatic landscape for nearly a hundred years. That's amazing! Three or four productions every year, reasonably priced and reasonably entertaining. We went for the Christmas panto, and it was pretty fun, but it was a bit rough around the edges. The acting quality varied considerably as you might expect. I'm not a huge Roger Hall fan to start with and the added 'topical' jokes were a bit old. It was a really hot day, and the theatre was very warm, especially by the end of the 2 1/2 hour production. I really enjoyed the half time refreshments - juice and biscuits in the foyer lounge, with a donation basket to cover it. A real community feel. So set your expectations sry the right level and you'll have a great time.

A lovely intimate comfortable theatre.Just loved James and the giant Peach.

The acting was poor. The experience excruciating and the whole experierience was an insult to my intelligence.
