It would be the best choice if you are looking for a delicious birthday cakes with beautiful decorations. As quality comes cost, it is bit pricey place. In the contrast to the cake, coffees and atmosphere of the place are not good as the taste of cakes.

This place is spotless. You can eat off the floor it's so clean. Loads of deserts to choose from.Done to perfection and look amazing.The restaurant has loads of tables and really nice setup.Staff are attentive and friendly.Prices are high but you get for what you pay for.Large cakes for parties or just passing and want a small treat.Some prices in photos.Loads of Parking.Wheelchair friendly.Only small & regular size coffee.Upstairs & Downstairs tables.Spotless.Funky & Modern inside.Loads of cakes, dessert's to choose from.++ 5 STAR rating ++

Yum yum yum... this is my dream place, with so many great deserts to choose from. They are done to perfection and look amazing. We had a moose cake, Donut type bread, almond thing, and the black forest cake. All of them were delicious. The restaurant was great with loads of tables and really nice setup. Staff were very attentive and friendly. Prices are high but you pay for quality here and you get quality. Large cakes for parties or just passing and want a small treat... this is the place.

One of the best cakes I’ve eaten. I’ve got this cake for my birthday 2 times it’s just that good. The fresh cream and mango goes so well together. I 100% recommend this place for cakes to anyone, especially if you’re looking for cakes that aren’t too sweet.

Great cakes, we ordered a kumara cake, it was delicious. The staff were very kind and efficient at their job. The ambience of the cafe/cake place was very good. They had a selection of goods you could purchase without preordering too. Prices were reasonable.The car park had plenty spaces. Great experience.My go to cake place.

This place is the go to for me and my wife, we probably go here once every week or two. The cakes are amazing!! We always get the slices, and the coffe is great. The lady's that work there are always welcoming and lovely, they pay special attention to our daughter. The blueberry vanilla cake is amazing

I have been buying cakes from The Gateau for over 10 years, but the quality of their cakes has deteriorated severely. The Kumara cake I bought recently had a dry and rough cake base, and the cream had an artificial flavor, making it taste very stale overall. I felt unwell after eating the cake too. Originally, I bought the cake for my mom's birthday, but our eager anticipation turned into disappointment. They just lost a long term customer.
