After much shopping around for an artist to complete my sleeve of native New Zealand birds... finally found Josh from City of Ink here in Christchurch, from the moment I walked in I was looked after and after explaining what I was wanting was pleased on how well my ideas were taken to the next level of WOW! Now I'm sporting an incredible sleeve (almost fully completed) I love that the attention to detail and use of colour in the background has really made it stand out and I'm now having to get use to people stopping me in public and complementing the art work.I love the overall fun, lighthearted atmosphere of the store, and it certainly made sitting through my sessions enjoyable and the great yarns shared between the different artists and customers took my mind off the tender" parts being inked haha.Goes without saying the store is clean and professional

I typically follow my instincts regarding my tattoo artists and these guys (and gals) hit the nail on the head as soon as I walked in the door. Ricky ended up taking on my tattoo idea and came back with an incredible, and exceptionally unique, draw up. He, and the rest of the staff, were incredibly professional and really easy to converse with, which always makes the process of getting what's in your head onto paper much easier.Ricky's talented ability shone through in his application and the results speak for themselves. I only imagined I could be this happy with an aged tattoo's semi-coverup. He seriously rocked it!! All around a really genuine, talented studio.Let these guys work on your body art. You won't be disappointed.

Awesome, really pleased already got another one planned. Profession and also friendly. I can reccomend them for your first tattoo. Having a cover up done soon and my thoughts were listened too with respect. I look forward to seeing the results.

They have so many amazing Tattoo artist with a wide variety of custom and traditional tattoo's . It is a very welcoming place great help and kind people. Josh is half way through doing my back piece and I am very happy with what its looking like, I travel from Melbourne to Christchurch just to get my tattoo done there.

I love the environment. The staff are really friendly. Only issue was getting a small tattoo that took 30 minutes and cost $100. My friend was there and also got a tattoo that had more shading and took 45 minutes and cost the same. So we paid $200 which is pricey for what we got.

Josh did my tattoo, highly recommend! Great customer service and great conversation! Didn’t try to make conversation when he knew I was in too much pain to talk which was great cause it didn’t make me seem rude for not talking and I just felt really comfortable in general!

I'm 56 and had my first tattoo today. I wanted something special that represents my family. I had the design myself and today I wear it with pride and satisfaction thanks to Hyro who was super friendly and I got the fist pump at the end for being super brave :)....it actually didn't hurt! Great clean tidy premises, friendly staff, totally relaxing place. Thanks guys!!

Initial contact was by email, great response and Michelle was very helpful. They were able to accommodate us at short notice, made us feel welcome. Reg did our tattoos and converted our concept into a great design, gave us great advice on what would work and what wouldn't. Highly recommended.
