Duck island Ice Cream
The lady that was serving me was in the middle of taking my order and her coworker started talking to her and I was left mid sentence whilst they finish their conversation. This also happened to my friend who was served by the same person. The top scoop was also very small as the server was struggling to scoop it and just gave up. Please prioritise your customers over social conversations with coworkers, and try to be consistent with the scoop size.

Got their famous Butterscotch Pecan and Feijoa. The former lives up to its reputation. Smooth salty sweet crunchy. Moreish! The Feijoa is nothing to wrote home about! Open shop with lots of seating! Pretty pricey for ice-cream but worth the little sweet escape

Duck island Ice Cream
Not only the icecream choices and taste , the staffs are so sweet also. We went there for a sweet treat after our dinner and my sick daughter was grumpy and noisy there. But the staffs were so understanding ,helpful and patiently assisted her and accommodated her requests. As the store was busy we didn’t manage to thank them enough for their kindness and hence I pen down here for them to know. Hey girls you all did a great job. Thanks

Duck island Ice Cream
The customer service is really poor. We walked in, there were 3 people standing behind the counter and no one greeted us or said anything. The ice cream cabinet looked sad so I decide to leave. I said “thank you” as I walked out the door and no one said anything back. It really makes me feel like they don’t want us to be there/ want us back.By the way, the Movenpick customer service is way better! They greeted us the second we walked in with big smiles and made us feel welcome! You guys should really learn from your competitor lol

Duck island Ice Cream
This is the newest branch of the Duck Island Ice Cream shop already opened in Ponsonby.The selection of flavours and options is nice and extensive.There are vegan and vegetarian (no eggs) options available too.The location is nice and easily approachable.It is an ideal place to get a dessert while strolling on Hurstmere Road on a warm sunny day.Proximity to the beach makes it an even better place.Ample seating is available in the shop.Staff are nice and patient with customers.

Ice cream pretty good which is to be expected but it unfortunately it wasn't just the icecream that was frosty... I know that it's always busy here and that it was a Friday night; but at least find staff that can smile and engage with their customers. If retail makes you scowell time to find a new career or find a boss that makes you smile.

Duck island Ice Cream
Unfortunately amazing ice cream doesn’t make up for really bad service. I take my little boy quite regularly for ice cream to Duck Island Takapuna and more often than not come away disappointed by the service we receive. Our most recent trip will be our last because of the way I was treated by the staff member behind the till. There are plenty other places to go in Takapuna which provide both great ice cream and a pleasant experience.
