Views and tracks are nice but good god the toilets were in a atrocious state. One was clogged with toilet paper and poo and the other had no toilet paper with a banana in the sanitary napkin bin.

Great place to start off your walk. The path's from here are well signed and maintained with a selection of routes. The signs provide distance and time to various endpoints.The view was great when we arrived, however on our return the cloud's had come down and it was wet we couldn't see a thing

It gets very busy! Be prepared for a bit of a winding, narrow drive up the hill and to park in a random spot if you're visiting during a busy time.But once you've got your park, it's an amazing spot! Plenty of walks of different lengths and difficulties, we saw heaps of kids here too so looks like some walks would be family friendly. The falls are a short but steep walk away, totally worth it though. And the hikes that head up the mountain provide amazing views, can see Mt Ruapehu in the distance.There's drinking water and toilets here, as well as a small visitor centre.

Huge car parking space with basic toilet facilities. A great staging point for tramping or bush walks/hikes in summer.Great vistas of the surrounding country and occasional views of Mt Taranaki when it's not cloaked by clouds.

It was extremely cold and windy! The mountains were covered with mist... But standing there and viewing what opened up when the mist lifted was like a clearing of the mind. The wind was howling and the sudden spurts of mountain was amazing.

Pretty sure this place is used for the view alone, and it's definitely worth it. Bring a jacket with you as it does get chilly up here.Don't forget to check out the lookout a well!
