I was fortunate to be in Dunedin when one of Haywards Art auctions was on. I spent ages wandering around the display - so well done it was like a gallery. Then I purchased a piece using the online bidding system. Extremely straight forward and simple to use. Communication was excellent and my art promptly arrived in a perfect state. These guys know their stuff, are knowledgeable and honest and I would recommend them 100%.

I thoroughly recommend John, Bridgette and their team. From the moment we met I felt I could trust them. They made what was a daunting situation so easy. They were upfront with what to expect and we felt comfortable with the process. Within a few hours of meeting onsite they came back and took everything away. With their knowledge and expertise we got a great result.

Awesome experience with Haywards. John and the team made everything simple, quick and organised. Picked up furniture from my house, went to auction and then paid me promptly for everything that sold. In an old converted warehouse, with old brick walls, concrete floors and exposed roof. But we're not here for the building :-) ... some lovely items on the auctions. And helpful staff too. Have been back several times now since the auctions went online, and I've been tempted by something in every one.... I'd need my own warehouse to store all the bargains if I gave into to those temptations!

Auction house withdrew an auction I was the high bid on several hours before the online auction closed and without notification. Only when I called to ask did they say that they had returned the item to vendor with no other explanation. A pretty loose auction house to do that, I wonder if I were to bid on auctions and not front up, if they would be as equally happy? Zero star rating from me!!! (I have to add at least one star to post this!) :-(

Go Hayward Auctions! One of my fave places! I love seeing what useful or interesting things are up for auction or asking if they’ll sell stuff I want to dispose of. The auction process is fun and online bidding is easy - and when I’ve wanted to sell, John’s honest appraisal of likely demand has made me feel confidant I wasn’t selling cheap or being ripped off – and on occasion they’ve picked up goods for me. Haywards really is pretty much a Dunedin icon.

They do not display measurements in their listings, it feels purposely misleading as some items look larger than they really are. Some really nice items, though, just sometimes it can be hit-and-miss.
